Took my car for diagnosis for DPF issue at Berry Heathrow branch, they charged me £70 just to tell me its clogged. I knew that already, then said i need to get software updated and try force regen which will set back around £350 -£400ish but not guaranteed to fix the issue. Shit service. My car is still under used car warranty and the 3 year warranty just finished. Never going back there again.

Shout out for Vines Guildford
Vines Guildford have now given me outstanding service on several occasions: Mini, Beemer, bodyshop and service - every time it's a pleasure to go there - and quite unlike most of the horrible service at alternate dealers in a wide area.

01/2008 - Stephen James Blackheath - E46 in for accident repair. Good repair but had to refuse delivery until they fixed the door alignment. Something I specifically asked for when the car went in.
10/2009 - Hexagon Highgate - E46 in for another accident repair. Good service and repair appeared fine but several months later in heavy rain I found a problem with parking sensors which was too late after the repair to attribute to them (but it could only have been because of their work). 08/2010 - Park Lane (Battersea) - E46 in for yet another accident repair. This one was my fault though. Excellent service from the dealer. 09/2011 - Park Lane - S1000RR bought new. Excellent service. 10/2011 - Park Lane (Battersea) - S1000RR warranty work. Excellent service but could have done with a courtesy bike. 01/2012 - Park Lane (Battersea) - S1000RR first service. Excellent service. 07/2012 - Park Lane (Battersea) - S1000RR more warranty work. Excellent service. 10/2012 - Hexagon Highgate - Approached for purchase of either a new or approved used car (wasn't sure which). Service was good from the Mini department but pretty rubbish from the BMW side. 11/2012 - Park Lane - E93 bought approved used. Excellent service. 11/2012 - Park Lane (Nine Elms) - E93 in for warranty work. Excellent service 12/2012 - Park Lane (Battersea) - S1000RR in for service + winter storage. Excellent service and they gave me a lovely warm cup of hot chocolate on a bitter cold morning! On the whole I've found the service from Park Lane to be fantastic. They really look after you and the only annoyance is it can be hard coordinating with them for the taxi pickup from the tube station. But the fact that they have a taxi pickup is pretty good anyway. Not sure if I'm supposed to post a question on this thread but I've got a service coming up in January. I'm still deciding at the moment whether to get a BMW warranty. Whether I get a BMW warranty or not will decide if I go with a decent indie or keep FBMWSH. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations in the East London / Essex border areas? I've heard of Sytner and an indie in Ilford but that's about it.

I've had a little bit of contact main dealers: service as good as expected, but as always, high price.
Haing said that, nothing seems to work quite as well as genuine BMW parts, so I'll keep going back...! Last edited by bandyboi; 02-15-2013 at 10:18 AM.. |

Cooper BMW tunbridge wells
Steer clear from these sales wide boys.
Fourth experience here. Took in BMW on PCP and they said its in negative equity! Offered 12k. Went to 3 other BMW dealers who all offered 15k and 16k Coopers excuses, the other garages must of made a mistake, and I have c@&t across my head? So they call me and change the quote saying they made a mistake, they didn't even offer what was on BMW UK website under offers - tw@ts Needless to say I got £16.5k for my car and a cracking discount on the new car ordered plus 3.89% as on BMW website. Copper kept calling and when I told them they said oh that dealer must be desperate. I said I'm not desperate to recommend them. Subsequently have referred 4 over mates elsewhere, so that's 5 sales down for them Every time I go on there ill tell them that my ar@e ain't for sale.... And I'll keep telling my BMW colleagues to go to my new contact |

Bought a 535D M Sport last week - dealt with 3 different dealers in the process of buying to ascertain service history, my sentiments:
BMW HR Owen (Acton) - complete twats - spoke to 3 different people, was promised call back on each occassion which never happened and after 3 days, the Service Manager rudely told me they cannot give any details out to prospective buyers! BMW Coopers (Tunbridge Wells) - pleasant enough, rang me back as promised, Service Manager gave me Service History details but couldent confirm nature of "non-service" work but told me nothing looked unusual (fair enough) BMW Fairfield (Leigh-on-sea) - awesome customer service, cannot praise them enough. Called me back straight away and gave me all the details I needed. Just goes to show how dealers show the same badge but vary widely in the way they deal! |

Hi,
I will soon be needing a service & maybe a warranty issue looking at, in the West Midlands area. Sytner Sutton is my nearest yet they have failed to fix a couple of issues in the past so confidence in these isnt great. Can anyone give me faith in WM based stealers.? Cheers Garry |

Sytner Harold Hill
Overall sale service was really good. Sales guy Justin was spot on. I would recommend him.
Service wise I took the car in for spark plug change and they were helpful and pleasant. going in soon as a slight knocking from the exhaust on take-off only and when going over a speed hump (assume it is the exhaust as if I keep the revs high over a speed bump no noise) and they have booked me in under warranty etc. so if you are local enough ask for Justin Stanford.... |

car went in for symptoms that are detailed in BMW SI B 24 03 08. This was experienced by the tech during the test drive.
Girl on desk said it wasn't covered under Mondial Warranty and would be 99 pounds to reprogram car and that I should speak to Mondial if I don't like it. Mondial bloke said they don't cover reprogram as it's not mech or electrical failure!!!! Spoke to girl on desk again, who now says we should have charged you diag fee too, so I said I'm not paying, just leave it. Shocking. Night and day difference in attitude between here and Blackheath who are much much better. |

Ultimately it will depend on what dealership (or stealership as I like to say) you go to. They all are mananged under different franchises (i.e. Cooper, Stirling etc).
I bought my BMW second hand from Cooper Reading stealer and I was pleased. They reduced the sticker price by around £700, gave me a full tank of fuel (however it was RON 95, NOT premium fuel like i requested), and changed air filter, 6 injectors and 3 coil packs and ofcourse a full valet before me collecting it. I was also promised a BMW umbrella which I never got! Also i emailed them a few weeks later after I collected my car and told them I havn't got a torch in my e90 glove box. No reply! However the car is in decent condition (otherwise I would have never bought) and it comes with a 1 year BMW warranty so I can't complain. |

I'm buying from them, not collected yet but I'm sensing that not all the cosmetic work I'm expecting will be attended to. Possibly because I'm not local and will be unlikely to return once I've collected the car.
Perhaps I'm worrying unnecessarily and it will be "inspected and prepared to meticulous BMW standards" ! |

My M Roadster was having some new tyres fitted at Sytner, Solihull and while I waited I was looking round the showroom, as you do.
I spotted a new M135i and was just sitting in it, as you do. A salesman asked if I wanted to drive one as they had one on demo. After explaining I was just waiting for my tyres to be fitted he said no matter. Within minutes they had sorted out their insurance to cover me and I had the keys and was out on my own for as long as I wanted. Awesome car, great fun and great service from the dealer. I know I probably could have bought the tyres cheaper elsewhere but sometimes the little things do matter. |
