assuming this was done, not sure what could be the problem. Did the car have enough airflow? Was the ambient temp very high in the dyno room?
airflow was inadequate for sure, i see my iat climbed up to 131F, while the current setup is only doing max. +5F on a 4th gear street pull. that dyno shop i went to used some really small fan...

Same with sockets, it's was around 110F in the dyno room when we did his car. IAT's were super high vs on the street so timing pull was an issue and I had to pull a lot out of it.

Picked up Gary from Worx today

OFG, crank seal and new serpentine belt done all for $300

Old crank seal and bits taken from behind it were pretty gruesome

Gary's feeling heaps better and looks like oil leak is solved

Great to get behind the wheel of something with some power again after driving the Daewoo

Can highly recommend the guys at Worx....

Have you cleaned the engine bay recently? Good time to do it.

Cleaning the engine bay is very subjective, lots of people like to throw their opinion in on what’s right and wrong, what you must do, what you can’t wet etc.

When I do it I do these steps

- Battery unplugged in the boot
- Engine Cold or Warm (Not Hot)
- I don’t have an exposed intake filter but if you do, plastic bag it.

- Buy a few cans of degreaser and soak the entire bay, and leave it to sit for 10mins or so, you will see dirt and oil and grease flowing down out of spaces.
- I also try to soak the underbody tray with degreaser.
- High pressure blast the degreaser off, I try to avoid the engine cover as much as possible so the top of the engine stays dry (where the ignition coils are)
- I focus a lot of water at the bottom of the engine, blast the underbody try as it all pools down there
- People say don’t get the alternator wet, I don’t worry about it and dry it well later.
- Soap up the engine and use a brush tool to adgitate the dirt where you can reach
- High pressure blast it clean
- Use an air blower, I have a metrovac, to blast the water away, I spend a good 30 mins straight air drying it.

I think of you don’t have a strong air blower you might not want to wet the engine as much, it would take ages to naturally dry.

By the time I’m finished it looks dry and I don’t see water dripping around anywhere, except from under the car to the ground.

Then leave it to dry over night, or just go for a 30min drive.

I think the biggest danger is you don’t dry your serp belt enough and it slips and wears a flat spot.

There’s plenty of videos on YT with plenty of contradicting advice, so have fun.

Diff finally gave up in the CBD, Gary was good enough to get me home, despite lots of rattling and grinding....

Looks like the diff will need to come out and get rebuilt. Is a shame because the MT conversion is around the corner

M3 rear end and manual conversion, perfect timing. Can do it all at once while the diff is out.

Unfortunately guys I already have two manual diffs sitting in the shed... one from DrJ and one from Brule... I would be an obsessive beyond help modder to add an M3 diff to the collection
