Making changes between FP3 and Qualifying that made the car demonstrably worse shows that they are losing (lost?) their understanding of the car. I think it is circuit-specific and an aberration but they figure out how Checo was able to extract performance today while Max’s car turned into a kangaroo.

So you guys are finally admitting all the years and times Max sawing other drivers front ends off causing collisions are his fault? Especially Silverstone?

Sainz is pretty much going straight, he barely moves to the left. Sergio was pissed he couldn’t pass Charles and then got passed by Sainz. He didn’t move and allowed it to happen probably hoping it would just take Carlos out and not him to. RBR is going to have to cancel catering to pay for yet another Checo crash. I used to be a huge Sergio supporter, but the guy has just self destructed.

What a race! Love the resurgence of McLaren! That helicopter footage of the Sainz / Perez battle was pretty epic!

Side note…The skill and concentration that all drivers display to stay off the walls at Baku at speed and under pressure is simply amazing. Especially with all the shadows.

Delayed DVR here on the west coast…..what a drive from Piastri. Absolutely the real deal and showing he’s as good as anyone on the grid right now. Feel really bad for Checo, running 20sec ahead of Max and then taken out by a non-smooth operation….Carlos, getting too greedy my man, threw points away for Ferrari.

This is a pretty reasonable take - watching back it’s hard to disagree. Watching live, it looks like Carlos moves into Checo with a little kick to is left, but that was initiated by the wheel rub. Still a real bummer.

Congratulations to Pia, outstanding driving holding off the faster Ferrari for 30 laps. Lando had a good race also from starting fifteen and finishing fourth.

I don’t get this take either, he sniffed outside briefly and then fell right behind him. Who knows what would have happened had Perez moved a little left…..

Carlos owes Charles and Ferrari nothing, he’s fighting for future jobs.

My snapshot seen from above (there was contact just before the crash)!

I'm pretty sure that Checo has clipped Sainz left rear wheel and Sainz was sent to the left and took Checo with him into the wall.

As you can see
