I have a quick question for those that can help me out....from what i understand if we use 91 gas in Cali, Cobb prefers us to use "drive"...and for "sport" or "aggressive" we need to use a higher octane gas...how about NV...is it ok to run "sport" on their 91....asking because ill be headed to vegas and i kinda wanna get a feel for how sport and aggressive is like...my car is bone stock except for the Cobb AP

Rob....
Will the revised maps address the random wastegate cycling? At least that is what I have been told it is... I can be crusing at a given RPM and throttle setting and suddenly the exhaust volume increases a few decibels and it pops like crazy on decel. This lasts for a good 30 seconds or so then returns to normal. Please let us know as it gets fairly annoying. |

There may be a gas station near you in Nevada that has 100 octane, and you can run a mix to get to aggressive without any issues.
Here's a link even though it says socal http://www.davebarton.com/Unleaded_Racing_Fuel_in_SoCal

Thanks for the response Rob. The only code it threw on the AP was a 0FF(if i remember correctly) which is the boost leak code.

Warranty ending shortly and I'm keeping the car. Ordered today from Cobb -- they were very helpful on the phone. I couldn't justify the overnight charges, after waiting years to get a tune ;-) I'll post experiences soon.
How about a few new threads for Cobb and let this fade -- rather long. One for 50 daily posts asking about updates, others for questions/experiences, etc. Just sayin' |

just bought a used '07 335xi sedan, has a cpo warranty and free maintenance until july 2013. planning to get the cobb AP but want to wait until i can get new spark plugs free from bmw (service said to come back in 800 miles and they can do them under my free maintenance, im at 40k miles). don't want to flash the tune on old plugs, seems like that will be trouble for sure. so i'll be enjoying the car and getting used to stock power, and hopefully cobb releases the new maps soon and when im ready to jump on the cobb bandwagon, the new tunes will be out and tested by many with good feedback. the timing is setting up real nice for me
![]() also, this is a great forum, a lot of good info. thanks to everyone for informing me and teaching me new things about cars in general on a daily basis, SO informative |

Pretty sure that anything that modifies the stock catalytic converters is illegal according to federal emissions law. Although I could be wrong. But that's what I heard...
