On the upside I got a chance to install the bavgruppe pre LCI E9x yellow LED indicators
![]() Remove the indicator bulb and replace with the LED The LED has the same connector plate as the OEM bulb so its a simple plug and play and code free.... noice ![]() Last edited by Socket; 04-03-2019 at 03:25 AM.. |

Thanks mate
I like the look too, but I had to swap them out and back to the "round eye" lights this week One of the lens were cracked in the corner and was letting moisture in So I have to replace the lens (again) replace some frayed wiring and splice in the amber and white inputs... I tell you this headlight mod will never end lol ![]() |

I was afraid you were going ask that
![]() Well the front bar has been replaced replaced three times so there is three right there. Then there has been four sets of custom headlights so there's another four to six doing those. Then we had a engine out a couple of times when doing the ST and manual conversion, so there's at least three or four times. Then at least once when the oil cooler was upgraded, another time to do the PSP FMIC, a couple of times to fit an remove the dinan air box, actually tbh ive lost count mate haahaaa ![]() Pics below Added one pic with the front end on just to prove sometimes work is done on the car without taking off the front bar lel ![]() |

Mod 109A PSP Thermostat Delete Plate
Constant leaks from the OFHG has been driving me insane ![]() PSP make a plate that allows the thermostat on the OFH to be deleted and make the whole hose connection and sealing surface much simpler (link below) https://fasterbypinnacle.com/product...adapter-plate/ It was a pretty simple job, consisting of removing the oil lines and the OFH thermostat, throwing the thermo in the bin and then bolting on the new adapter plate and reconnecting new oil lines ![]() Best thing of all, no leaks ![]() Pics below Pic 1 - OFH and oil lines (radiator removed) Pic 2 - Oil lines removed (note use of shopping bag as a temp oil pan hahaha) Pic 3 - Thermostat removed exposing the infamous OFHG seal ![]() Pic 4 - Thermostat delete plate installed - close up Pics 5 to 7 - Extra shots of finished install Last edited by Socket; 04-11-2019 at 06:59 AM.. |

Mod 109B PSP FMOC
A few months back we installed a 7" PSP FMIC Great quality product that has performed really well PSP also make a front mounted oil cooler which is designed to fit in the space above the FMIC on the N54 https://fasterbypinnacle.com/product...il-cooler-kit/ So finally got around to installing it today ![]() The PSP FMOC comes with a cooling core, hoses, 10an fittings and a mounting frame, brackets and associated bolts and screws It is designed so the mounting frame sits neatly inside and radiator support, and is screwed in place with self tappers The cooling core can then be screwed into the base of the fram, and the top secured with the brackets, which line up with OEM holes in the top of the radiator support. While this made sense, it did not work in practice for me, because the hood latch would not clear the cooling core, when closing the bonnet, and there was no way to push the frame further back without cutting into the radiator itself ![]() ![]() So after much stuffing around, the solution was to mount the unit upside down ![]() ![]() The whole job, including removing the old ER oil cooler would have probably taken a couple of hours, but ended up taking all day after going back and forward multiple times, trying to work out how to make it work I put a short DIY together in case it helps someone out https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...0#post24639740 Not my best DIY but hopefully the description above makes more sense when you can see the pictures ![]() Pics below Pic 1 - PSP FMOC kit Pics 2 & 3 - Removing ER sports OC Pic 4 - Trimming in progress Pic 5 - Mounting bracket secured in place Pic 6 - One of many test fittings ![]() Pic 7 - Cooling core secured in place with bolts through mounting frame Pic 8 - Install complete Pic 9 - Time to put the bumper back on (again) ![]() Last edited by Socket; 04-11-2019 at 08:16 AM.. |

Have not had a chance to give it a good run yet mate
PSP claim the core is a 400% increase in size of stock, and therefore twice the size of the ER That said my oil temp never really got over 110C with the ER fitted I mainly installed the PSP in to get the OC out of the wheel well Be interesting to see what happens with the coolant temps, now the FMOC is in front of the radiator ![]() |

Took the car for a decent run today to test out the new FMOC
Was a nice sunny day with ambient temps around 23C Lots of stop start city driving with a bit more spirited driving off the lights and on the freeway when traffic permitted... Oil temps hovered around the 105C mark, a little lower then im use to Coolant temperatures sat between 102 and 107C which normal for my car Really need to track or test it out on the twisties, but so far no leaks and temps look good Worth the time, money and effort? Not sure yet, will see on the next cruise ![]() |

"...eliminating the factory thermostat that opens too late at 240f...." So I assume that's why N54 oil temps are always 115 or 120 C and why yours now runs a bit cooler which has to be better for the oil. I can't imagine it really needs to be running that hot ~115-120C anyway? |

Have not seen you in a while Don Hope you are well mate ![]() Apparently the oil is suppose to run hot to flash off any water then gets into it.... I am not sure what that temp is suppose to be tbh... someone smarter then me will know if this is fact or an urban myth ![]() |
