I just put on some 19s today with standard tyres 265/30 and 235/35 after using 18s with runflats 255/35 and 225/40. I've also tried 17s with runflats and they are as bad as the 18s. Though I tend to run around 38psi so that probably doesn't help.
Anyway, I initially had 31 psi in the 19s and they felt remarkably soft with no crashing or bumping and 100% better ride. I pumped them up 37 psi and they are noticeably firmer but still much better ride than the runflats. And look really good too I will definitely be sticking with standard tyres myself. I have also invested in a scissor jack, tyre repair kit and can of slime just in case |

My advice is to keep pressures above 35psi in tyres with such low sidewalls, low pressures puts more stress on the tyre sidewalls and rims (excessive wear on tyres and potentially cracked rims if you hit a pothole!)

I just did a track day yesterday and the instructors advised to pump 'em up to 40 psi. I was shocked as I thought that tyres are supposed to be 32 psi all round.

Yeah, most people drive around on 30-32 psi but even cheaper tyres are are rated at around 44psi for max pressure and up to 50psi max.
Every time I go to the servo the m/c is always set to 30 or 32 psi. I put 37-38psi cold as when the tyre warms up it will increase in pressure anyway. 32psi is certainly better ride but as Jekyl mentioned you don't want to crack your 18 or 19" rims. |

38 psi all round for e92 and e90. Tyres will wear perfectly and slowly. I did almost 29000 kms on my pirelli p zeros with 38 all round. I do baby my car but if i see a nice long stretch of tarmac i occassionally get on it and don't drive like a hoon or turn steering wheel rapidly in turns. Depends on the driver in terms of longevity of tyres but 38 psi all round are perfect for these tyres. My 2 cents.
