Well, unless I have to go on site to talk to an employee, go to a meeting with a customer, or head to the office for any other reason I work from home. If I have to go to my office its 6 miles, though I try and avoid that.
The golf course is also 10 miles, which I am probably at more than the office |

I wonder if a "how long it takes you to get to work" is more appropriate. I live about 9 miles from work but takes me about an hour to get there (commute into NYC is a biatch)

I used to live in an apartment with friends about 5 miles away from where I work, but I recently moved back in with my parents (for multiple reasons), which is about 15 miles away from my workplace.

I just have to walk downstairs.
Only real commute I do, is to an airport a couple times a month.

Me - From home.
Mrs. - 5 miles. There is absolutely nothing I detest more than liars and Traffic! There are all sorts of studies and statistics that show the negative health affects on people sitting in or commuting long in traffic. F that! |

I'm amazed by how many of this crew works from home. What type of work do you guys do? I have to schlep in during blizzards and hurricanes in a full suit! I'm prepared for the typical responses of "webcam star", etc...

I used to live in Williamsburg Brooklyn and commuted to Midtown. It would take about 45 minutes and was probably 3 miles.

I would agree, though many employers do not even though many of us have the ability to work remotely. Some employers seem to think if they can't see you, you must not be working. Hell, I'd be thrilled if we could work 1 day from home and the other 4 in the office instead of all 5.

I commute about 52 miles one way, but it only takes me around an hour and 5 minutes on average. Whereas some poor slob who works downtown Toronto may only have a 10 mile commute, but takes him the same amount of time to do it. |
