Good luck to you and hope it all works out okay.
I was in a similar boat a few years back, albeit, working over in the US when I was 22. As others have said, great experience and a good opportunity to save up funds for when the time comes to fly back to the UK. That's how I got my deposit saved up to buy my first place (and that wasn't a tax-free environment like the UAE!) Craig |

My friend worked under contract in Dubai. Earned about 2 thousand dollars. It was difficult for him to acclimatize, but, fortunately, everything worked out. During the three years of his stay in Dubai, he noticed how rapidly the country's economy is developing. Despite religion and restrictions for women, homes and business centers are growing like mushrooms. By the way, my friend says that many foreigners work, like him, under a contract in Dubai. For some reason, they value people from the West more (maybe their education is much better). Many foreigners invest in real estate in Dubai. There is such a popular catalog Korter.ae where you can find out all the information about the property project and its developer.

i know this is a old topic, was started like 6 years ago, but funny you raised it up as i'm considering leaving my current MOD job in aircraft maintenance and working out there, for the money.
