FOR GODS SAKE DOUBLE CHECK AND SEE IF YOUR DP'S ARE PLUG AND PLAY! NO FLANGE F'ing around .... modifications. Because you might end up towing it to the shop and getting it modified to fit.

Dont mean to scare you, as most will say its a prick of a job and unless you have all the gear it will drive you around the bend.

We do this for $450 inc GST and need your car for the day.
We even run it up on the dyno to check for leaks etc.

Forgive my ignorance but what is it that makes it so difficult / time consuming? Being the same part I would have thought it is just a take off, replace job. Parts being designed to fit in the same spot etc.

Trying to squeeze in their without removing enough parts is what took me so long.

The V-band connections and O2 sensors are incredibly tedious because you simply cant get both hands in with tools to position stuff.

In hindsight I would have disconnected the steering column first up and removed the lower rack from the frame completely to give enough room.

I spent a week going back and forth trying to figure out why the steering rack didn't fit. Then after I decided to take the plunge and disconnect the steering column, it was much easier.

I think I might just book it in with you Peter. It will most end up taking me the good part of a day and I don't need the headaches right now.

Yes, the installation of downpipes is very tedious and requires a lot of PATIENCE. The step by step process that I included in my last post reply at the bottom of page 1 is what I used successfully. I have had my AR downpipes on and off twice now. The second time was much quicker. The second time was to install the RB Turbos. If you think installing downpipes is tedious, try changing the turbos. If you are going to install the downpipes at home, it is important to get the front of the vehicle as high as possible so as to have plenty of room for manoeuvring the downpipes.

+1

Took me five hours to install mine...and I had a hoist...and a BMW Master Tech to help me.

We did it at night though using a crappy torch and the torch on our mobile phones to see. Don't listen to the guys that say it can be done in 2-3hrs. They are in the states and are LHD, that means they don't have that fkn steering column right smack bang in the way.

It's a "fit once to install", then "remove to part out" type of job. I'd still consider selling the car with them on. They are a pain to do.
