I would love to get a carbon fiber one like the one below. I plan to focus more on exterior mods for the next couple of things I do. Maybe wheels and spoiler/lip. Haven't decided which one first, but probably spoiler since I think it needs a spoiler more than a front lip!

Another quick thing I did was the little vent adjuster. I had a passenger move the vent angle and the piece just broke off. I checked it out to see if I could glue it or fix it somehow, but the plastic piece actually broke. I was lucky to find a used one off the forums. Didn't take too long. Just had to be careful when taking the dash pieces off.



I also washed the car and took some pictures. The first one is one of my recent favorites I've taken. I think I got the angle just right. These pictures are just with my iPhone 6+ camera so they are good, not great. I recently got a DSLR so most pictures/video going forward should be MUCH better quality.

I added several items to my detailing collection too!

Lastly, there are some detailing videos I made (not with my DSLR yet) if anyone is interested. I've been on a binge lately!





I like this one because you can see my jeep in the background...hmm that gives me an idea.

I think the high kick spoiler will match your car perfectly! why not consider gloss black? since your car is not really going with the CF look from what I can tell.

Gloss black would be my other choice, but I'm thinking it would be nice to have a lip and spoiler matching both CF. It also seems to make more sense if I throw in a few accents here and there that might be CF.

I would also say I could imagine my car with some CF parts as opposed to gloss black parts. Maybe a more premium look too.

Went to cars and coffee event this past weekend. Trying out my new DSLR and got a little footage. I didn't get as much video and pictures as I anticipated because I ended up talking almost the entire time! Seems like the focusing with video doesn't work as well as I'd like, but the camera is great. Still getting used to using at the settings.

These pictures make it seem like no one showed up, but it was pretty much right when I got there.

A couple quick updates on some new gear.

I am loving my new digital SLR. It's a Canon T3i. I still have a lot to learn, but generally speaking, the pictures I take are much better than before. Trying to use the settings that allow me to change more. Seems like a guess and check at least for now. Here are my thoughts on some different settings and when I use them. If anyone has any tips, let me know.

- "P" - I use this when I want to be sure I get the shot if I don't trust myself changing things. Pretty much fully auto settings
- "TV" - when I want to focus on something that's moving. It allows you to change shutter while everything else automatically adjusts. It's cool because you can make a fast moving car look still or capture motion blurring.
- "AV" - one of my favorites because you can focus on one subject while blurring the background. Although it doesn't seem like this works as well with wider shots
- "M" - Allows shutter and aperture changes while everything else is auto
- "A-DEP" - automatic depth of field. I haven't really had much luck with this setting so far







I also picked up some more detailing gear. Getting ready for spring!

It was so warm this past weekend! About 62 degrees!

I washed both vehicles and even had some time to put my new camera to use.

Also... I finally got a carbon fiber high kick spoiler in the mail! Can't wait to get it installed.

I am trying out a new style of video. It's still car related, but not as pin pointed to a specific topic. Since I went to cars and coffee, did some detailing, and worked on the cars, I figured I would try it out. Don't feel obligated to sit through the entire thing!

I'm also expecting a BIG change to the car soon! Stay tuned for that.

Another vital piece to my collection: a more serious tripod. This one's a Rivelli 61" and seems pretty solid. It has two levels and plenty of adjustment options. Also, the mounting piece is removable so you can screw the camera on and remove it quickly instead of unscrewing it every time, genius!

Definitely not high end, but I don't see the point of paying several hundred dollars for one, especially at this stage. Here are a few pics:

Huge Update!

I finally got a set of wheels.

They are VMR 710s. 8.5 x 19 and 9.5 x 19. From doing a ton of research, the 19s made the most sense, there was no way I would go bigger. Gunmetal, because I didn't want as extreme contrast. Also, black wheels don't come out in pictures as well.

It might be a couple weeks before I get them on because I have to get two tires still and need to get one refinished. Hoping to have them on in the next couple weeks or so. Can't wait! Here are a few pictures.

Anyways, just took to wheels over to the shop to get some love. One had some serious curb rash and the other just some touch up. One step closer...

Glad I'm getting them done if the rash was that obvious! Plus I'm way to picky to drive around with curbed wheels.

The shop should finish them this weekend, but I won't be able to get them on until the following Saturday.

In the meantime, I did a video on washing microfiber and also there was a robbery/bomb threat across the street from my work today and I got footage of the bomb diffusing robot. Enjoy for now, I really wish I had wheel updates for you!

High Kick Spoiler!!!

Finally got it on the car! It looks great I wish I would have done it sooner. I think the CF works great the the car and will go perfectly with my new wheels which I will get on this weekend! I would also like to get a CF lip at some point too. Let me know what you think. I also installed a CF license plate frame which adds a nice touch as well. Too bad it covers my plate renewal sticker...hope the cops don't mind.

It's funny you ask that because normally I would say I'm good with keeping the badge, but after taking these pics I am now starting to consider it...

It would definitely look cleaner. For now I will keep it. Weird how the spoiler changes the look in that way.

I had your thoughts exactly, I kept the badge until I added the High Kick spoiler. After that, I felt like it looked better.

Either way, clean car.
