You were the guy from DCT flashing right?

I ordered the exact same FMIC which I received today :-) Will also feedback how it went to install and post logs before/after.

Yes that's me. I likely won't install for a while as I have some higher priorities.

Just mounted it last weekend. Install went without problems, everything fits nicely. The input tube coming from the turbos needed a bit of lubricating to fit.

A 2 gear pull (2nd + 3rd) on MHD stage 2+ made IATs rise from 75F to 102F, see log: http://www.datazap.me/u/icstyle/mhd-...0&data=3-14-22

This was on 15°C outside temp. Unfortunately I really just forgot to log it before with stock FMIC...

I don't really know if this is good or bad :-)

One log in isolation has no meaning really. I'm hoping to log before and after.

Well its not exactly the same because you have done a second gear through to third pull, where as mine is just a third gear pull but from much lower rpm.

Mine rises 16 degrees F over the pull from 99 to 115.
Yours rises 27 degrees F from 75 to 102.

My ic is the first version vrsf 5" NON stepped.

Not sure how much difference there would be if you just did a 3rd gear from low rpm.

It's not really working. Time to get a real IC.

If you have a decent intercooler the temps go down when you accelerate during a third gear pull, or at least the same temp.

Depends on flow of your setup and tune but 25f is not very good.

The dme starts pulling timing around 115f.

I've seen the mhd guys recommend keeping temps below 140F/60C.

even the best intercoolers will still get above 115F on a mildly warm day with some spirited driving.

my genuine Wagner evo 1 2nd gear to redline 1-2 degree C rise, 2nd to redline then 3rd to redline 9 degree C rise. ambient temp in the mid 20s mhd stage 2.

Nice log. Now that's what a good intercooler should do.

My car on a 25 degree ambient temp conditions.

It drops 1 degree f after WOT then raises up to 3 degree f after letting off the throttle on a 3rd gear redline log.

FWIW I have a AMS FMIC pushing 18-19 psi on stock turbos running E50.

That's another good log of what an upgraded IC should be doing Shane.

I think it's safe to say that you get what you pay for with intercoolers. I wouldn't install one of these copies just cause they look good.

Everyone loves a bargain, but yeah sadly this log points out loud and clear that the FMIC isnt working all that effectively

They are still ok for a power gain cheaply had, but if you get addicted to this stuff you will end up buying an expensive intercooler.
