I had that problem for 2 months. Too busy to have it taken care of since they wanted to keep the car for the entire day. Its the same software update I think.

Not to stir up trouble, but interesting comparison with the information that Terry has posted over at Bimmerfest.com in regard to the invisibility of the JB1.
I bet folks would pay good money to watch Shiv, Jim, and Terry hash this issue out.

I asked this question on another thread and never got an answer (opinion).....if I go into the dealership for routine maintenance (I'm due for an oil change) can I specifically request that they DON'T upgrade to the new program? It's my understanding after reading through all these types of threads that they will automatically perform an update. What if I simply ask them not to?

Shiv, Now that legendary tuner Jim Conforti has announced/released his new open-source tuning platform, will you be adopting and participating in making tunes for that platform..? It seems that you are extremely knowledgeable and almost all your triumphs are in getting Hardware to overcome the software.... which really limits your time actually using your expertise and refining & honing your skills at tuning. Meaning, if you become a leader in the Sharkedit community, you won't keep fighting hardware and will be able to just sell your Shark Tunes. . . |

this is interesting....
your take on the new tunning detection Shiv "As for the code, it looks like it is viewable at the dealership level (and presumably by the end user as well)." Jeff's take ""And FWIW it's not a hidden code other then it doesn't throw a CEL. It can however be detected at the dealer level. We have tested and have not seen any code" Terrys take "For example...... that the code is hidden from dealers and only sent to BMW headquarters. Yet I have a datalog from dealer software clearly showing one of the codes (2D25). Neither have I seen an example of v80 progmans limiting torque. Only the v81 ""file attached"" am i seeing a trend here? |

Bumping up the thread - a lot of questions are not answered. Especially whether ProgMan 29.2 can detect tunings only with the v81 ECU or with the v80 ECU as well. Any news ?
