I can get stage 2 for $1899 + 119 (1 hour of labor). So about $2000. I got a deal on the Britalman catback exhaust for $995 last year.

Dinan's press release shows 390HP with catback (not just their axleback). From what I have heard on the forums Dinan is ok with other catbacks.

Procede = $1300 if you by now and did not have to get the wire upgrade kits
Catback = $1000 (low estimate)
Downpipes = $800
Intake = $350

There was a post today that showed that combination that equals almost $3500 + all of your own labor is good for about 365-375 whp, while the Dinan is 15 to 25 whp less at about $3000, plus you get a matching warranty.

Of course differnent brands of bolt ons and labor rates vary, but you get the idea.

End of my off topic discussion, but I can see why Eugene thinks more highly of the flash with matching warranty than the piggy backs. I have been down the same road for a year now and paid for one wire upgrade at $150 and am looking at another $50 + install time if I don't switch. Not to mention the install problems I have had and limp modes.

Eugen - welcome to the world of flash . Sounds as if Noelle suits your needs perfectly (and after all, that's what it's all about).

I'll be interested in hearing what your oil temps are like when warmer weather arrives and you try some "spirited" driving. For your $4,000, did you also get any oil cooler upgrade, or just the Noelle flash?

My car *with S2 Dinan & stock OC* hasn't exceeded 125C (just over 250F), and that was following some extreme driving (at ambient temps of around 28C).

The next both components I will ( let ) install is the Spearco FMIC and the upgraded oilcooler. As supporting mods. I expect max 5hp.

After that I can go to a Dähler 380hp upgrade for the Noelle tune or to the Noelle 401 hp tune. Nice .

I got just the flash and a cleaned car. However, I can install the Spearco FMIC and the upgraded OC without any impacts on warranty.

It is strange that Dinan reports 5hp increase with IC, but tones of dynos and marketing stuff indicating 15-26rwhp gain. I just did mine few days ago...feels stronger. but I will do dyno this weekend with baseline stock and tune only dynos.

I don't understand why you factored in dp and intake as those are not on dinan set up anyways... so fair comapro will be v3/catback(1.4+1 grand) vs dinans2/catback(2 grand + 1 grand) which I think both yield about the same amount of power...

I will be happy when I will get more power out of the FMIC .

Eugen,

Glad you got her installed and it is running well. Does the Noelle upgrade path give you discounts on upgrades? Since you payed $4k for the 360hp flash do you get a discount off the expensive $10k 400hp flash?

Because this was a question asked of Shiv today. With the new V3, full exhaust (including DP's) and intake would you get 365-375whp. The dinan numbers for S2 flash with catback only are 350whp.

15-25 whp difference.

Anyway, enough of that talk. It is great that new alternatives are appearing and we can all decide where to spend our hard earned money. Last year at this time there was really only one choice that had a wide customer base.

Yes. You won't have to pay the full price when you purchased a predecessor already.

How true. There is no right or wrong. Anybody has to do their own research and spend their own money. Performance numbers are only one aspect to look at. Everybody can find some attractive N54 engine tunings today.

eugen: awesome to hear. sounds like a nice option. smooth, yet more power and no "herky jerky" drive feel. 60 HP is a nice gain.

I bet the exhaust note sounds mean!

The FMIC is from SPEARCO, a US Turbonetics company.

Day 2

Another 200 miles with the Noelle tune. My car gets faster and faster, the grin in my face broader and broader. I had the impression the engine had idling issues once after a spirited run on the Autobahn. Oil temp's are still lower than stock. I've also a correction to the initial posting, in "D" mode (WOT) the car upshifts at 6400 rpm now.

Great to have holidays now .

Up to now it seems a tune.

I'll keep you informed ( 360 -> 380 -> 401 hp ).
