Also, Dinan's tradeoff of high rpm boost for turbo longevity is well publicized and directly tied to their providing a warranty. I don't know why people continually compare it to the more aggressive tunes out there. |

Dinan Stage 2
Based on Dinan's own website you should expect to get about 55 more Hp with the tune. 384 Hp vs Dinan's stock comparison of 329 Hp using their 8 ft fan and dyno ( 384-329 = 55). The fan probably also helps the stock setup get more than the usual 306-313 Hp.
If your Dynojet stock comparison gives 273Hp at the wheels you should expect to get about 320- 325 Hp with the stage 2. It also only max's out at 13 psi and tapers off at high rpm's ( turbo safe) so it can't provide the power of tunes with higher boost that also is maintained at higher rpms'.

What CONDITIONS were they running the dyno at? Humidity? Temperature?

You should read up Steve's philosophy on dynos before barking up his tree... http://www.dinancars.com/bmw/technia...ern-bmw-engine Does you car feel significantly faster than it did before? If so, what does it matter what numbers you put down? I have full Stg. III and a good buddy of mine put down bigger HP and TQ with only Stg. II....albeit testing conditions were very different(mine was 97 degF and 85% humidity) and I only lacked 9HP and 7ft/lbs. My Stg. III is quicker than a Stg. II (confirmed) regardless of the peak HP I put down in a snapshot of what the car was doing that particular day.

Dyno racing is humorous. Here is another variable.... go to 3 different dynos and you will get 3 different results.

Exactly, The conditions of the dyno make the numbers impossible to duplicate. Temperature, elevation and humidity all have a huge affect on the Dyno. You aren't going to get great hp numbers in the middle of summer. Read the post about getting 400hp at the wheel in the middle of summer.

![]() ![]() btw -- I am not counting AA's tune (since it's still ~ equal to PROcede v1.47) or the SSTT. I guess I should not have said "everyone knows," but I thought that it's a well-known and accepted fact by now. ![]()

this thread isn't to start a bunch of arguing about tunes or who's car is better or faster. It is just to inform the people and the consumer about what I have spent my money on and the product and results I received in return. I am very unsatisfied with what I got for my money and want a refund for a product that isn't what they stated it should be. They say it should be 385 to the crank and it is nowhere near that. Its 20 up off and that's alot. If it was 3 or 4 or 5 up then u would live with it but 20 is just unacceptable especially from a company that is supose to be so reputable. We will see what they have to say tomorrow and I will keep everyone updated.

Ok, well it seems like the dyno is reading low across the board if a V2 is only making ~325 whp. So comparatively speaking it seems right on track or maybe a bit low. Maybe you received Stage One? Regardless you should be happy with what you purchased. Good luck.

Wow, you really hate the Dinan tune don't you! On the street they are all similar with just a tune. Although it was a much closer race for me when I raced a jb2hh on the streets. From a roll he would creep a bit at 120mph. From a dig he would be at my back bumper and not start to gain until 115 or so. When I did pulls with a V2 car from 40-120 we were dead even all the way up to 120 or so. He has catcack which was terribly loud for some reason.. You guys are getting WAYY to caught up in dyno numbers. Bring it to the real world. How does the car feel to you and most importantly.... Does the car bring a smile to your face everytime you get in it??? I know mine does
