We have beat this topic to death on some other threads. The production version is exactly like the "prototype" shown. The debate is whether or not detached = fake. I say it is, others say not. There are some pretty high end cars with a similar disconnected design. Whatever you call it I sure don't like it.

If I got an IS-F I'd remove 2 of the tips so it's just twin exhausts.

look harder. i know the picture does not have the best lighting, but its the best picture yet of the exhaust on the production version, and its pretty clear to me that they connected the tips to the piping.

as for the styling of the exhaust tips themselves, yes they made me cringe when i first saw the rear end of this Ferrari. but i suspect that, if this Ferrari makes it into production, the exhaust tips will grow on me just like those on the IS-F did. do i like the look? no, not particularly. do i hate it as much as i did when i first saw them? not at all. would i keep the stock exhaust if i had an IS-F? no, and the aftermarket i chose would most likely have a better looking exhaust tip configuration. and i'd likely do the same if i had the opportunity to own the Ferrari as well. but that's not to say that these exhaust tips are ugly - they just aren't real attractive to me.

If you are going to fall for Toyota's muffler revision (a crappy one apparantly), then so be it. But as you can see clearly, there is no connection between the bumper-attached exhaust tips and the real exhaust tip itself. They've done this with the Celica before, a move that showed that Toyota would rather care more about looks then functionality (Which is why there is stacked off-center exhausts in the first place). |

In regards to the functionality, I was not talking about the 'air leak'. I was talking about the placement of the exhausts which is very far from the path of least resistance (center). |
