does the new '09's have a lag? i would think so since they come with the latest software. one thing that might force bmw to prioritize is to ask friends to go test drive the 335i's then complain they feel a lag when they drive it as the main reason they are against purchasing it. hurting their sales might move this up on the list. also, maybe complain to all the car publications. uses the power of media. |

30.2 is supposed to be a slight improvement over 29.2 with lag... and they will definitely update you with a new HPFP... ive had mine replaced twice within two weeks =x... fuck is going on with BMWS fuel pumps... scared to do anything to my car cause the fucking thing might give out again next week

Are the 30.02 suppose to detect tunes now or not compatible? Or is everything pretty much the same as 29.2?

I know you already didnt get your car updated... But they wont unless its needed. BMWNA wont pay for programming unless there is a recall, or the test plan states to do so.
Just PM me next time you have a question like this S

From what I was told by the service techs the software is upgraded if required by BMW. According to them if the FP is replaced the software will be updated as well. They said that most of the updates are mandated by gov't regulations to comply with emissions etc... That might be a crock of shit though...

jmsent, you got lucky. on my invoice, it says my car threw up error code 29F2 which they found is related to SIB 12-55-06 and they instructed to check the program and update it. so...i guess it depends on the reason you brought the car in (non-pump related) and your error code (if pump related). |

NO, you don't automatically get a reprogram.
I just had my HPFP recall done this past week. Dropped it in at 9am in the morning, got a call at 1-2pm saying it was done. No re-program was listed on the sheet, and my car still feels the same. So I guess I got lucky I had 2 concerns getting the recall done. One was that I would get a remanufactured unit (I didn't), and that the new one would fail on me (only time would tell). I already have 30K+ miles on my old HPFP and it was still fine.

I just brought my car in for routine service and my SA that there is a campaign to replace the fuel pump. I have an 07 with 28k miles and I've never had any issues with my car. But it's not like we can decline. The SA also said no software updates will be done since my car is running fine.
