The saga continues. During lockdown I have changed the lifters, oil filter gaskets, brake pads and rotors, and ccv system. Oil burn went way down and car sounds and drives great.

She is expensive but I am enjoying it.

Sorry to hear about you getting taken advantage of, but I like your attitude and that you're using this as a chance to learn about the car instead of losing your resolve. Best of luck, and we're all here to answer any questions you have along the way!

What did you change as far as CCV system please? I have issue with my car burning oil (no leaks) and that could also be my problem

My car is an early 2006 model, it has a stand alone ccv valve, it kinda looks like a small ball. It is not over the valve cover. I changed the ccv and all its hoses.

Just curious here, for the 2008 revision, was this 2008 Model Year, or 2008 production? How would anyone know if they have the revised lifters?

I am curious on what a inpa scan of the modules would look like. The PO might have but in a used cas, key, dme , cluster set from a low mileage car. Whats the last seven of the VIN?
