I'm almost finished with episode 5 and what in the actual fuck

One of my old neighbors I grew up with actually worked at T.I.G.E.R.S. for around 4 years. He was a zoology major and obsessed with big cats. I had no idea that place was so damn strange, or that the world of big cats was equally as insane. He did say that place was like a prison though in that he worked 24/7, made virtually no money, and was pretty much never allowed to leave the place or go on vacation. He stuck around for the sheer fact of the animals he got to work with, but eventually he said f it and left.

When I was in college I worked at a zoo before class. Based on my location I'll let you guess which one. I didn't get to work with the animal directly but those who did made shockingly little as there was a huge line for the job. Obviously it adhered to OSHA standards so that part wasn't an issue but the pay was honestly surprising. Also, because they were union jobs you had to pay dues. My first paycheck I ended up still owing the union money for initiation.

My wife and I binged the 1st 3 episodes. This is absolutely crazy.

We personally know the owner of McCarthy's Wildlife (wife and his daughter are very good friends), who shows up in Ep. 2 for interviews. Really stand-up guy, so I'm hoping that he's just there for interviews, and doesn't get thrown into a negative light as we progress through the rest of the show.

Yeah I feel a little bad for him. He did do a lot of stupid stuff and caused a lot of damage in other peoples life's.

First I thought he was set up by the other 2 guys. The Antle dude and the “hit man” were buddies so I have a feeling they just came up with the $3k story. I didn’t see any real evidence that he actually gave him $3k.

Then Joe says he did give him $3k to just get away and leave.

Now I’m not sure.

I think definitely a season 2 if he’s now suing and how the show ended with Joe about to spill everything.

I actually feel sorry for Joe, he's no angel but I don't think he should rot in prison and Carol I believe murdered her ex husband and she laughs and smiles about when she talks about him. She has so much money to keep her out of Jail and has hoarded her ex's estate

We watched it this weekend.

Crazy as it is, my take on the show is:

1.) All those big cat people were all bitching about the other, while they are all doing the exact same shit. If they loved the animals and truly wanted whats best for them; rather than keeping, raising, breeding, selling, etc. find a way to release them to the wild.

2.) I CAN NOT WAIT for the new season of SouthPark!

Sidenote: I've had that damn "I saw a tiger" song in my head since yesterday. Damn you Joe Exotic. In all seriousness, I kinda feel bad for Joe. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely! On a grande scale though, I feel like he was the least offensive of the entire crew. I feel like Joe had valid intentions in the beginning. Once the money started rolling in; it all went to his head. I mean, I've been to several zoos but at none of them could I buy hillbilly boy underwear in the gift shop.

I watched it over the weekend considering I took my sister to Big Cat Rescue when she visited me here in Tampa. Unfortunately she left heart broken knowing the background of the big cats and the conditions they were in.

Really enjoyed the show, so many twists I hope to see more content in the future.

We did finish season 6 of Dexter before we started Tiger King. I needed a mindless break from Dexter for a few days. I've really enjoyed the first few seasons. The blueprint of the show is getting very predictable though. New cast members means either the sister is going to fall in love with them or Dexter is going to kill them. Basically it's race between which of the two can get to the new cast members fist. Either way they're fucked.
