I have the Eonon GA-9465 non-B as well with buttons and the 7 inch screen. Please check with Eonon first for your particular model but the updates I got were a little later then Andy's with a later MCU version (links below). Eonon may have later versions then I have so check with them first anyway!!! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XaN...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mgs...ew?usp=sharing Quote:
The difference between platforms seems to mainly be based which ARM chip and the MCU unit which is the head unit side of things it utilises. The GA9465 like ours uses the RX30 chipset and from the looks of things the same generation of units use the same head unit firmware. https://forum.xda-developers.com/c/android-auto.3833/ I am considering at some point getting a recovery and backup on the unit to create a backup image of the Eonon android version and trying somthing like Malaysk ROM instead of Eonons version and seeing how it goes but haven't had time to properly research and try that yet and am getting on fine with the update. (Anyone thinking of doing the same this will probably void your warranty be warned!!!) Quote:

Man am I glad I found this thread. I have been having a plethora of problems with my GA9465B more or less since I got it. Link to post with my issues here: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...9#post27910759
TLDR; My GA9465B Apple Carplay is basically non-functional, as well as other apps and the unit itself is slowing down massively or will have random bugs. If you are still looking into loading custom ROMs from XDA, please let me know.. Id rather try every solution before having to shell out another 2-300 for a new unit. |

Updating this -- I ordered a higher quality camera (manufacturer Misayaee): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for $60 (vs the $20 I paid for the original unit). Definitely better and crisper -- maybe not 3x better, but on the other hand $60 is chump change in the context of a BMW. Swapping the old one out was easy -- but the power connector didn't match so there was some extra splicing involved. I just cut the female connector off the old unit and soldered it to the new camera so it would match the existing wiring. Last edited by andy_06xi; 05-05-2022 at 03:53 PM.. |
