At this taste test, was there any OPs there running the actual new JB3 1.2 map that gave RevII a try??

i think there was 2-3 people, i'll wait for their reviews rather than someone who run Rev II today as their first tune

I like the new PROcede map over the JB3 1.2. And yes I've driven both.

Can you give a description/explanation why?

Yup a better explanation would be better and exactly what map you did run.

Just a suggestion but i think everyone should wait on Scalbert's review. . .

"If i were a JB3 owner, i would be disappointed and upset after running this NEW PROcede tune"
Not really fair for me to comment in regards to the latest procede release........but since I am beta testing JB3 v1.2 I CAN comment on how it compares to previous JB versions such as 1.0 and 1.1.

Most JB users are currently running 1.1 which has better mid range power but less top end than the previous 1.0 version.

Before the beta version arrived, I swapped back to the 1.0 chip just to compare the feel of the tune. It had more top end but was kind of lacking in the midrange, as the tuners were still experimenting with detection flag thresholds and were playing it safe in the midrange.

When the beta chip arrived, I noticed that the "hotter 1.1 with lag fix map" not only combined the low end AND top end of the two previous chips.....it also had more presence below 3K. From there on upwards, it had more power delivery than previous chips, but was amazingly smooth with abundant torque everywhere.

So now when I switch back to the earlier maps.....I feel disappointed by them. So I understand why you are saying the same thing.

There is a noticeable and seductive improvement in power delivery with the hotter map and apparently I have the earlier beta version, so my lag-fix is weaker down low than the most current revisions.

All I am saying is that I think the JB3 1.2 would be a fairer comparison by which to judge both products since both tuners have made significant improvements to shaping their power bands.

So as far as the "taste test" results go.....It makes no sense to compare one tuners latest version to another tuners older version.

Just a few things I noted having driven the JB3 1.2 for about 15 minutes total was power delivery still wasn't as sharp and quick as the PROcede I'm running provides. On a 3rd gear pull from around 3,000 rpm's I noted a bit of lag (yes I was running lag fix map). This could be due to any number of reasons, but this is just what I felt which I don't feel on my current setup. And as usual, the power seemed to drop off after several WOT runs. Something the PROcede just doesn't seem to do. The power is constantly there.

It did feel stronger down low than my previous JB3 in all fairness, but really didn't seem to inspire that WOW feeling I've been getting with the REV II.

I'm not an expert....this is just MY experience. Hope this helps.

that is another more technical review done by steve... i would like Mote's explanation for the time being. Just curious why he likes one tune more over the other.

That's a good review, you should probably start a JB3 1.2 Review thread.
I do understand where you're coming from stating the the new v1.2 would be a more fair comparision between the 2 tunes and as I said, someone start up a JB3 1.2 Taste Test and that could really help clear some stuff up

These reviews are pointless! No dynos no good comparison just butt dyno explanations. This should be redone in January as you said, when 1.2 is out and Rev 2 is out.
