Hmmm I say skip both...and wait for the Meth Injection Kit. I personally like the stock exhaust, and if you think the tips are too small, look at those dimsa (sp?) tips.
Downpipes could cause issues with service (warranty). From the sounds of it, the Meth Kit will give more HP than either DP's or Exhaust and should be much easier to remove before service. |

That it will be more easily reversable than DP's and exhaust....in terms of a backyard mechanic with basic hand tools. |

I am thinking of doing the catless d/p as my first performance mod. I know a lot of you will not agree. I want to tune, but have not decided which one to get. Plus, from what I have read, there are some out there still being developed. So, i'm going d/p first then decide later on tune.
I also want to see how much of a gain the d/p alone will give me.

I understand that, but look at this way. I see so many people selling there tunes for something bigger or better, things are always changing with tunes. Prices go cheaper, better things happen. A downpipe is a downpipe, start with that and you have that much out of the way, your ready for any tune that comes along.

Well maybe your friend needs to understand that the larger the turbo, the more lag it will have! You can't stand the lag now with the software, just imagine it to be 3x more with larger turbos! |

i just installed my RR catless DP's.... the only thing im worried about now is smog emissions and that "god awful smell" that i keep hearing about.
mind you that i have stock exhaust and i plan on keeping it that way.

Go rr catless dps and stock exhaust. You can free up SOME hp with an exhaust but not much. When I had my car worked I kept stock exhaust to sleep and save a few bucks. The major hp increase is from the catless dps. Also the rr dps along with the stock exhaust give off a nice sound/smell. SLEEPER
