True.
In other words, the 02 sims are only required for catless downpipes.
If Scalbert was running stock DPs then there wouldn't have been a code thrown.
It's another way to think about it.

Thanks! That's what I was trying to get at. I wasn't sure what scalbert's mods were (if he had catless dps, hfc's, etc)

You may prefer map 5 to map 6 if you're looking for a more linear pedal input. But what you really need is the new 1.3 PID algorithms! Also interesting on the missing screws. Where did you get the JB3 as they all come with screws to connect up?

The unit definitely comes with screws normally. I hope your connector doesn't come loose! As far as the kick, I know exactly what you are talking about. I like it too. It makes it exciting to drive every day I get in the car. It will probably make you speed more and wear out your tires faster, because its kind of addicting! Drive the car hard often! You will find it running very strong in a few days. My car will run close to a 12.0 on map 6 right now (w/DRs), on 91 octane!

The whole boost build thing is hilarious. You guys realize these turbos are so small they will build full boost (whatever the tuner tells it) by around 2000 rpms. There is now build boost or lag or anything. This is tuner defined. It has nothing to do with which system is better. It has more to do with what the tuner determines is the customers needs.

I am not sure what you are getting at, of course the response is by design. And the way I prefer it is to have on/off throttle transitions occur quicker. In addition, having more control with the pedal.

To be honest and now after thinking about it, I could have left them off when I was tracing things out.

It is exciting but I am not sure I would like it everyday. As mentioned, I had a difficult time getting somewhere in the middle which is where I tend to stay during typical commutes.

But in the end, this is a preference thing.

Sorry if I missed the thread, but did you already do the extra testing you were planning on Scalbert to verify if and how the JB3 was pulling timing?

No, I haven't. It has been delayed for many reasons but I beleive the timing (pun not intended) was right. Now that I have the BT software I can see everything I need.

Awesome. BT enthusiast version is turning out to be a big plus, with a great price. Mine's on the way!

When you say the "timing was right", you mean the JB3 IS somehow secretly retarding timing in an active way, and not relying on the ECU, as Terry has been claiming all along???

Bingo...

Now that the BT software is available, there should be no assumptions.
