All I said was the GTR looks nicely tuned. I'm not going to lie and say that the other tunes looked good. Because you guys already know how they look. And I don't see the need to take it personally. It's just your car. And it can be fixed. Unlike other things.

Other than the lower numbers please shed some light and technical info on why it doesn't look good. I respect your expertise and I'm not a tuner. Remember we all have the same car and were on this forum to talk about and explain these things. In fact my numbers I'm happy with 360 whp is what I was targeting for anyway. In terms of the graphs I'm gonna admit I know shit about what's happening and why certain cars with the same tune pulled lower numbers.

No doubt the GTR is a beast jpsimon. But I feel that wasn't his intention. I really don't care if you or shiv think jb3 sux. We have the same car and the only thing seperating jb owners and v3 owners is a damn box with wires.

Lets keep this clean.
The dyno session was problematic to say the least. There were two major problems with the way it was run 1) Virtually no fan. The fan they had was not positioned well, nor was it powerful 2) The runs were back to back. Basically 4 runs in 10minuntes. No time to cool down to allow the car to recover. I was very disappointed in the numbers, especially on the cars with the stock intercoolers. One guy ran the same with map4 as map6, and in hindsight it was a mistake to run map 6 under those conditions, even though people had some supporting mods and 94 octane gas. I really think the shop did not have much experience with these cars and how to properly dyno a turbo car. Its a shame as it was fun meeting everybody, but judging by the graphs no one is really happy with their numbers. Perfect example is my stock run. 247hp??? I think the car was completely heat soaked by that point, and all my HP values are off.. The ambient temp in the room rose 5 degrees between my first run and last, so you can imagine the temp in the engine and my reference to the heat soak issue. There is alot of crappy boost control, throttle closure, and or ALOT ignition correction on those maps.
the map goes flat at 4500. Then straight up. Similar to a VTEC equipped car. It doesn't take a tuner to see its problematic. I wonder how bad that feels inside the car. As a third party with neither tune, those tunes need to be re-done. |

I feel you mike. I'd like to see results on a better fan for sure. But still can't explain my bros car compared nicks car who had same mods and ran same map.

If you guys are happy with that, more power to you/ From someone who dials cars in on said same style dyno, IMO It needs some work. Not even the fanniest of fanboyism with smooth that graph out.

Also why can no one see this chart? It should be the first thing they see in the thread!
Here is map 6 with more supporting mods, you can see it smoothing out. With airflow I bet it would be perfect. Mike . |
