okay.. my apology. I will do my homework... I didn't mean to start a war or something... but please don't be this offensive.

btw, i think we somehow need to start a thread on teaching people (not as knowledgable as you guys) how to read the datalog and how to tune your V3 RevII. I just got my V3 RevII a few weeks ago and want to learn more about dataloging and the meaning of all those # and graphs on the datalog. If Shiv or someone can start a thread and start to teach people how to read their datalogs, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm with you Coco...

I'm in a similar position... I've read each and every thread, but there are so damn many that it is hard to figure some of these things (which obviously means that I missed a thread or two).

I spoke with Shiv last week and told him that it is difficult for a new V3 user to understand some of the specifics because there is no single "Clearing House" of information. I recommended that there ought to be an all inclusive and comprehensive user manual for the V3 Rev.II, as it is much more complex and advanced than the JB3 (not a flame), thus making it easier for some of us to thoroughly understand all features (especially the user adjustable settings) that we paid big dollars to use.

Some people on this forum are often rude and abrupt in their response when it comes to a harmless question that may seem redundant to the "experts" ...but don't take it personally as it is understandable that veteran "posters" are sick and tired of reading and explaining over and over and over again.

So here is my plug for an all-inclusive user manual or at least ONE location that serves as the "clearinghouse" for ALL comprehensive information.

seriously even if you are very experienced with the Procede, if you don't follow the threads and read them the experienced ones still don't know what each new update pertains to! I know for me sometimes I get confused myself with all those constant updates and new maps.

Shiv says it looks fine, but I see some boost oscillation after the shift to 4th? gear.

Yes, there is a little. But look at the duration in the X axis, just over 0.5 seconds. This would not be noticed. It may also be due to the opening and closing of the throttle plate.

+1

It's just after the shift in a 6AT. Quite a bit of throttle gymnastics going on right around there. I suspect that if you look at actual boost/manifold pressure (instead of IC pipe presssure), you'd see stable pressure.

-Why does it seem to occur only in in 4th?
-Seems to smoothen at time 183.
-Hard to tell at that scale, but the boost seems to be oscillating throughout the run around 1-2psi..I'm sure it's not noticeable unless staring at a gauge...nonetheless it's there.

There's a lot of load in 4th gear. In other words, engine speed doesn't increase as quickly as it does in lower gears. Which means that the turbos are more likely to "over-run" the engine than the other way around. Which means that it will be more prone to overboost and correction. Now, we're only talking aout 1 psi of boost and for only a very short period of time. Plus, this is exaggerated because it is reading boost from the IC pipe is subject to throttle closure induced spiking. I'd say that any boost aberration shown in a datalog is going to be a lot more minor when viewed threw a boost gauge which is reading from the manifold (which is all we or the engine cares about anyway).

I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, but how do I find out my actual boost/manifold pressure? Do I need to buy Bavarian Technic Diagnostic Tool or I can get this info with Vishnu software?

You should install a boost guage in your car thats the first thing, if not try to run a usb cable into the glovebox and use your laptop to see what your boost is..here are the links

Thank you very much for your response, cn555ic and jpsimon.

Actually I ran a USB cable from V3 II to my glovebox yesterday. Now i'm able to datalog while driving. Please forgive me if this question is stupid... what's the point of dataloging boost when the numbers are not the actual boost/manifold pressure?

They are very close though.

What do you need to do to datalong in the Procede reader?

Can anyone tell me the necessary steps? I recently ran the usb cable in the glove box, so now I want to try and do some pulls......

TIA
