I agree! service after the deal and a CA that is always willing to go the extra mile is worth the extra few dollars.

If you manage to wait until the end of the month (and the beast is still in stock) you'll likely be able to work a deal with mats and a much better price. If they moved the car, no sweat, order one. End of month is the time, period. Quote:

Make no mistake, I am very courteous and polite with anyone I meet, whether they are a waiter, car salesperson or janitor. I actually tend to be too courteous at times and I've had friends/family comment on that. I am not saying to be mean (I've dealt with many unpleasant customers during my brief experience in retail and it's not cool) or to take money from the salesperson's pocket (not that he would let you), but make it a point to play your cards right, especially when dealing in a business where customers are regularly manipulated and ripped off. Look at the big picture man, you're buying a 40-50k car and they want you to pay for a "needed" piece that should have been included to begin with? A piece that is worth 0.2% of the money you are spending with them? ...please. My advice: do what MrDummy did, also delay the negotiation to the 2nd half of June. Furthermore, there's a thread on here where a member posted very interesting info about Dealer Fees, I don't have the link saved but you should be able find it easily. Read the Edmunds.com "new car buy" guide as well. Cheers, -Walter

The floor mat thing was a shocker so was just curious as to what everyone else's experience was. At this point, I'm just going to tell them I don't want them if they cost extra and see what happens. But the issue with this being the car I want is unfortunately a legitimate one. Having checked with several dealers, it's the only car in the color I want with a manual coming in over the next 3 months to the West Coast unfortunately. Pretty much the only thing stocked around here is Silver, White and Black. |

I went to Momentum BMW West in houston - and the internet sales manager offered 400 ( with floor mats for free) over invoice - and I didn't even counter it as i'm not ready to purchase. I have heard bad stuff about Momentum - but my experience was really good. One of the salesman there handed me the keys to a 135i to drive around - and just to return it. He knew I was new to driving a stick and he said I could have a go at it. I was just practicing getting it out of first.... nothing major. Overall Momentum very nice! I feel I could get a better price than 400 over invoice since it was their first offer after i told them I could get the car at invoice from BMWsonline (transporting will cost me 500). Im sure I could get them down to 200-300 over invoice. Advantage BMW is also very good. I was offered 500 over invoice on any car in the lot (didn't counter offer but he said that's the best he can honestly do). The guy I talked to there was very nice when I went to test drive a 335i. The guy I talked to was Ricardo Fernandez.. was a very nice guy. Knowledgeable too! edit: I suggest you use BMWsOnline as a bargaining chip - as I did. |
