did you ask for a speedy transfer from a dealer far away?

if not, ask for stuff that the dealer can give you, winter mats, trunk mats, ipod cable, gas card, etc....

some times, dealer are able to make a 90km car to a CPO

I am not trying to get anything from the dealer b/c I already have all the accesories that I want, including window tint, trunk/fr mats, ipod cable etc. It's just the fact that 90km is "high" no matter how you cut it.

To stir things up more, they made a deliberate error, in my opinion, in the initial agreement to pay less money for my trade. I had to go back in to argue with them. In the end, I got an extra 1% off, trunk mats, and 1 oil change. Even then, their compensation is way less than what I originally had in mind. Now this thing comes up. It's just never ending.

Personally, I would be concerned about why the car has what looks like excessive mileage for a new car and I would want a reasonable explanation from the dealership as to why the mileage is so high. As long as I were satisfied that there was a reasonable explanation for the unusual reading, and that the car had been driven by a responsible person in a responsible manner, I wouldn't be concerned about what is really an insignificant overage.

If the car had been test driven a few times or otherwise used for a purpose not related to normal transportation, inspection, and testing, then I would have more concerns.

90km is definitely high. For all the last few new cars I've bought, the contract has always had delivery km's noted at 50 (I assume that is the standard amount since its been on the past three contracts I've signed for 2 Acuras and one BMW), but none of the cars have had more than 5-7km on them when I took delivery, including my most recent 328.

The important thing is to find out how it got those 90km. I'd be more worried about car going on the highway before break-in.

there is no reason to not put the car on the highway during break in as long as you are not redlining it or going WOT

ok here's the update..the car only has 40 km on it..even though it's not <10km like most of you here, i am just glad it's not 90km..let the modding begin!!!

there's a contradiction with your post. you want compensation but you dont want to be an asshole. you gotta be a jerk to get anything from the stealership. talking nice isn't going to work. if it isn't in you to be a jerk, (i'm dont get rude unless i've really been screwed), then dont try it. they'll probably laugh at you.

anyway, someone already gave the advice i would give someone in your situation: ask the dealership WHY there were 90 km's on delivery. if the explanation is crap, then try to paint them into a corner by probing deeper and making them uncomfortable. let them know that 50 km's is the most allowed by their own policy (not sure if that's true), and tell them if YOU as an owner had violated the instructions on the manual YOU would probably have had your warranty voided; so they should be held to that same standard. am i making any sense? it's kinda like lawyer talk. keep asking questions and tell the guy You're not satisfied with the answer that was given. You want to speak to someone higher up who can satisfy your concerns. you can ask what is the km's delivery on other owner's cars in that dealership, and tell them that you suspect that their employees are joyriding in your new car. you can tell them that you will complain to the Better Business Bureau (just a threat, it's not going to accomplish anything). ect. . . . .

if they offer you compensation for your troubles that doesn't satisfy you (like a keychain), tell them not to insult you. your time is worth a lot more than what they are offering.

i had 30km's on my delivery. i thought that was a lot.

My invoice says "Total KMs: 30 (anticipated)"
but the Features & Options sheet says "Kilometers: 90"

I'm hoping that is either a typo or also just an early estimate, and not actual.

90km was posted on the sales invoice. It turns out to be only 40km, which is still a lot. I let it go b/c didn't want to waste time. Congrats on your new car!

I took delivery today. My actual was 13 km. Whew. I'm perfectly ok with that.
