These are all very good suggestions but unfortunately not all of them work... Here are some general rules to parking in Brooklyn and a couple of good bumper blockers... (I am extremely anal in keeping my car scratch free).

dude, if you love that car then put it in a parking garage. i'm in upper manhattan and my ride wouldn't survive a night w/out damage. it's $260 a month after tax up here.
otherwise sell it and get an '87 Astro van |

Yeah I think I'll pass. I wouldnt even let my mother-in-law drive those. For now, I bough the bumper guard and I am going to make sure I park in the lowest risk for damage areas. If I get one more, its garage parking time! |

Can someone please explain why this guy put "rear bumper" and "swiss cheese" in the same sentence?

like some others have said, just pay to park it in a garage. you will have peace of mind knowing its not getting vandalized and plus you wont have to clean all the snow off of it when the bad weather comes around. lol

The majority of my parking is in tribeca at night...SO FAR ive had pretty good luck. Im more scared of getting a no front plate ticket then getting a scuff on my bumpers lol

welcome to brooklyn. Selective parking is your best bet i sometimes park a few block away from home if it means the best spot. Bumper guards catches sand and dirt under it when the wind blows and causes your paint to get scratched. Just try to find the best spots for example between garages but wide enough for them to get out.
