So guys, what's the difference between having a Xenon bulb in the normal light setup, and having factory Xenons?

I want to go for a dipped beam bulb upgrade but thought I'd check how easy they are to install first.

It sounds like they are not easy. Is it right you have to do it from the wheel arch?

Also, not sure if this is just in the States, but are the bulbs covered under warranty? I never thought they would be but I was reading stuff about a warranty sticker that gets broken when you take the bulb out...

I'm not very handy so don't want to spend money on bulbs only to find I can't fit them!

For what it's worth here is my experience of aftermarket bulbs. I bought some for my last car which was an E46 325Sport and in the daylight they looked great but on an evening their performance was shocking, much shorter range than standard.

Stick with well known brands such as Phillips and you should be OK. Stay away from the other unheard of brands.

I just fitted my new LCI lights and I did indeed have to break a seal to get to the bulbs. Not sure what it actually said on it though, presume it was warranty related!

they would probably work for about 10 minutes, to be foar for £5 a bulb you may as well try them, but i bet you wont be happy. they will either be really blue and chavvy, or simply go pop after a short time.

you get what you pay for in this world.

i must say they been bang on and give a crisp white light too.

best thing is ive had them in for 18 mnths now and no probs at all!!
