the BT software has some injector calibration selection - Iwonder what this does

I am diangnosing a bad 02 sensor as well. I dataloged the lamda volatge in front of cat. converter and I was seeing exactly what scalbert was seeing with his datalog in one bank and the other one was fluctuating from 4-9 v and droppng to zero for a few seconds and then moving upwards to 9v. Real easy way to find out which one is causing the problem. Im getting rough idle and misfires from time to time. Hows your gas mileage Dzenno? Mine is horrible ever since this problem happened! I also got a 30FE code. Maybe the stock tune doesnt react well to downpipes and DCI.

have you tried resetting the lamba adaptation?

If it turns out to being a leaking injector, that lambda value should not have gone high; i.e. lean reading. The concern I have is that the potential leaking injector has fouled the O2 sensor. But this needs to be taken one step at a time.

Gas mileage really hasn't noticeably changed. Maybe after all this is just an injector issue. Car is at the dealership right now. I'll know what they come up with later this aft or tomorrow at the latest. We've diagnosed it down to injector on cyl 2 but dealer may end up replacing all 3 injectors on bank 1 as that's what their flowcharts tell them in this case.

For the past few days weather has warmed up and now I don't get the cold start misfires anymore. Why would this problem disappear with warmer weather?

It sucks now that I've got a scheduled dealer visit to fix my cyl 2 injector but don't have any codes on the car as last week the previous dealer cleared all codes and the issue didn't happen since. There's still a bit of hesitation felt but not throwing codes or half engine light, only on cold start as well, but then gone after about 30 seconds..

What to do now that I know the issue is there but doesn't happen right now due to weather? Was sure that it was cyl 2 injector causing this but how can an injector have problems only in cold weather starts??

I dynoed the car, there's a thread on here about it, 2 days ago and noticed that the car lost about 40-45whp since about year and half ago...can this injector, if that's what it is, attribute to this loss? Car now has cyl 1-3 coils new and all 6 new plugs..

Hi Dzenno,

I'm experiencing exactly the same since a couple of months... only cylinder 6 in my case. Now the temps are rising, the cold start issues also start to disappear...

Ín my case my dealer already replaced my hpfp, coils and plugs, software, and the injector on cyl 6. No succes... they are now in the proces of ordering a new DME....

They think the DME is causing the trouble... I can drop my car off, on the 12th....

By the way, when they replaced my injector, there wasn't an error code present... they told me that it was the logical next step.... I hope they handle you on the same way... although it did not fix the cold start issues in my case..

Alright, I think the fiasco around my car has finally come to an end. I dropped the car off to a dealer (this time knew the mechanic personally). Replaced all 6 injectors, all plugs (again), 1 coil, got the latest 37.1 ECU software and injectors were recalibrated, all under warranty THANK GOD! the car hasn't had enough cool down time yet but it's been running smooth..I had some issues getting my by tool connected, had to retry 3-4 times until it suddenly worked, weird...

Tech mentioned that if I was running any flash tune that the new software disables it and won't allow it again somehow. Doesn't affect piggybacks, but I feel bad for the GIAC guys but I'm sure GIAC will find a workaround, hopefully..

Tomorrow morning will be the real test to see how it starts up on cold start but most likely issue is gone...

That head mechanic that said it was a head gasket should be fired on the spot..

Oh, by the way, my o2 sensors seem to be fine now as well..the values for adaptation multiplication now follow each other closely at around 9-12 %...voltages were always around 1-2V..I Guess those adaptation numbers on bank 1 were so high (>95%) becase of a faulty bank 1 injector ..
