There's this latin medicine that gets rid of them without surgery... one of my family members took it and it dissolved the rocks..

He says it's OK post-op. The stone moving in the kidney and your bladder is the worst part. Just keep in mind that the surgery itself won't remove the stone, most likely. They'll go in, blast the stone(s) so that they are smaller and can pass faster. After you pee them out, the level of discomfort should be much lower than that of an actively moving stone.

You are being sarcastic right??

I didn't know there were people that were unaware of how terrible soda is... I thought people knew and just didn't care. Soda is awful, it is like drinking a beaker of chemicals from the Chem lab.

Good luck with surgery.

Soda = death

Stay away from it, it is just sugar, water and chemicals. Not what the body was designed to consume.

GL with the surgery. Hopefully I'll never have to do that. No more pop for me, unless it's a mixed drink, which I don't have too often anyway

Well guys i'm back and I survived...my BP and heart rate was up because I was so nervous but it really wasn't too bad.

They gave me IV fluids to keep me hydrated as you're not supposed to eat 6 hours before surgery, then right before, happy meds which took some time to kick in...then the anesthesiologist tricked me...she goes "What's 99-72?" so I'm pondering it...then all of a sudden, I'm being awoken someone taking my blood pressure, I had blacked out, an hour passed and I was done!

The bad news is, my stone was too big to remove in one shot, so they left a stent inside me to relieve the pressure in my ureter. I could still pass the stone with the stent widening the aperture but in 2 weeks, going back in for a shorter surgery to have it removed.

The anesthesia was so strong that I couldn't stay awake most of last night when I got home but today, I haven't even taken pain meds, I feel great...just awkward there is something inside my ureter that's temporary.

Thanks for all the GL wishes and support!

glad to hear everything went well but the part about having a stent sounds very painful.

Glad it went well! It's pretty amazing what doctors can do these days...although I imagine having something foreign in the ureter feels strange!
