I run map 7 as a dd and "7.5" to bump up the boost a little bit (Note: map 7.5 is a custom map 1 from T). It's an in between of map 7 and 8 without running race gas.

I've owned two 335i's and they both had weird warmed up idles. Bounces no a/c on or any accessories so weird...

BTW I've had old plugs, new plugs, new oil, dirty oil, etc and still had a funny idle, not a bad idle, but just an unusual idle.

Change your spark plugs, i've heard that helps.

Not in my case....my bad idle wasn't present until I changed out to new plugs @ 25k miles. Also no vacuum leak, I pressure tested it. Other's have got their EVERYTHING changed (plugs, coil packs, and injectors) and still the crap-tastic idle...so what gives ?

Carbon build up gunking up our Exhaust valves..... I know it causes mis-fires, so I assume it could also cause less than desirable idle as they get more gunked up, search the Audi Forums and you will see that they have it really bad.

hey OP, any update on it?
cuz i have the same thing as you do... it is pretty annoying now... whether AC is on or off, once they car is warmed... then once every a few mins(?) i'll get the damn shudder/vibrate and i could see the idle going around 700-600-500-700. also when idle jumped to 700rpm, i can hear "tak tak tak tak tak" sound, then it will go away in awhile along with rpm drops back to normal... and after awhile, idle jumps back to 700rpm with the shudder, the sound comes along together.

Coming from an LS2 GTO that shook and bucked at idle, this car is amazingly smooth.
