In HK cars are much less about track performance, since you will never ever push a car to its handling limits. Its more about sound and looks and prestige and how it makes you feel and c63 could arguably win against the m3 in some of those categories. on top of that, i don't care for any MB car except the SLR. In terms of performance, no doubt M3 ATW.....however, HK is more about image in judging the taste of a person by the car he/she drives...Base on that category, S5 is winning all the way and our Gwailo member (Wolfman) will be having more girls to check out on him in the parking lot with a S5!! Meanwhile, the New V6 Supercharge S5 with the OBD software tuning to unseal the power (not the V8 oil eater) definitely cannot swing away by M3 easily until the car hit high rpm speed of 140-160 benchmark..then the V8 M3 is definitely having the edge for Big V8 NA Engine.....here comes a controversial discussion, how often we drive the car in HK beyond 160??? This is the reason why I chose my current 335 but saving M3 price difference to buy a safe MB fo my wife in allowing me to drive 2 doors coupe.......just my 02 cents, Bro!

Even 335i>S5 in certain situations. See this fifth gear comparisons. Certainly the price of the S5 and 335 with M-DCT are more or less the same if optioned similarly since S5 as more standard equipment but base 335 is a bit cheaper. 335i DCT 699,000 S5 Coupe 799,000 M3 1,149,000 50% more expensive than 335i! In the US its 25% more. Until the RS5 comes out, M3 has no competition from Audi. Now if you compare e46 M3 with s5, then its more interesting... Last edited by akhter; 07-30-2010 at 08:11 PM.. |

I don't believe 335i comes with MDCT,it should only be a normal DCT. |

Disagree...
If you want nav in S4, its 85k (inc. FRT). This is because you need to pay first to upgrade MMI to 3rd gen and then pay for the Nav options. If you want HiFi professional in 335i its about 24k incl. FRT. HiFI professional in 335i is about as good as B&O. So if you want to equip both cars with Nav & top end stereo, S5 will come out more expensive... |

I was comparing a Chipped S5 with an E9X M3 and I did drive a chipped S5 (V6 Supercharge).....it is a beast!! As I mentioned, HK driving is mostly about torque and thus, M3's Torque is merely 40.8kgm with Max HP of 420. For the non-chipped S5, the factory torque is 44.9kgm with Max HP of 333...stage one tuned S5 can easily reached 53-55kgm of torque with the max HP around 400. Bear in mind that, M3's torque release at 3900rpm and whilst, S5 release the max torque at 2500rpm.....Don't get me wrong, I'm just comparing the torque usage in HK's daily drive aspect while the M3 of course is way beyond the S5 except the torque, my friend!! Look at that perspective alone, I'm suggesting our forum member to save some money for other aspects of usage while buying M3 in HK is like wearing an Armani Tuxedo ![]()

You are damn right about it........My previous Audi A6's Bose (not even current B&O) Concert system was way better than the so call, sucking logic 7 in my 335!! Bimmer doesn't know how to build sound system whereas, they are fabulous for engine though!

standard Hifi in bmw in all models sucks. No BMW in HK comes with Hifi professional. its not even on the option list. you have to order it as a custom option (which I did for the f10 I have on order). It is also called individual hifi in 3 series and hifi professional dirac live in 5 series. more info here: http://www.dirac.se/products(1).asp I don't know why but the dealer here won't even tell you that option is available. I had to do show him the brochure and demand that he let me order it ![]() Last edited by akhter; 07-31-2010 at 10:03 AM.. |

If I stake out a road and drive it long enough I can spot where the police usually are. It's also about what time you intend to drive there. Sunday morning at Luk Keng is a bad time to speed for example, hehehe. If only Hong Kong has a dedicated track, I can save the time and expense of having to go to the mainland...just imagine driving a M3, blasting down the straight without a care in the world. |

Personally, while track times is important and fun to lower, above all, driving pleasure is what matter to me. There will always be drivers with cars faster or slower then you. What matters to me is that the car overall is great to drive and is accessible. Some of those supercars are incredibly fast of course with 200mph+ top speed but are those cars also really that fun to drive and sit in? Don't get me wrong, I would'nt mind having one if I has the $$$, but the bulk of my time is spent on driving in real world of public roads, and that level of daily accessbility is important. And so far the M3 (or maybe the S5 for HK) fits the bill for me nicely. That is, until the RS5 comes out, I would love to have a chance to test drive that. |
