If this was something internal or visually exterior on my expensive BMW then I might care about name brand but, there is no way this so called "junk component" can do anything except help my car "exhale" better, no one can see it, and I'm getting great hp gains so I could care less about the whole "but you have a BMW, you need to buy expensive parts for your expensive car!" load of crap. This person obviously bought one of these new batches because the originals are getting excellent reviews from people like myself. Looks like this batch wasn't as good with fitment but, the company is still standing behind their product so he's got nothing to worry about. There hasn't been a single person I've seen yet that has said they have wasted their money on these downpipes so you really have no room to talk down on them. |

Well, it concerning flow, diameter is not the only thing that matters. Its about how restrictive the bends are. Take a careful look at the AR downpipes and compare the bends especially right next to the turbo flange to the raceland pipes. You'll see that the bend on the raceland pipes is much sharper. Also, its about the quality of the welds. A good weld is worth its money! It will resist cracking due to heat expansion and vibration. A shitty weld may look OK on the out side, but it will be more susceptible to cracking from thermal expansion and vibrations.
Fitment is another big issue. The shop that installed my AR downpipes could not believe that these downpipes fit so well with the AE performance exhaust. They say that normally they have to make a lot of adjustments with other downpipes and exhausts to make sure everything sits in the location where it is supposed to sit. With the AR downpipes and AE exhaust, they just tightened the bolts, and everything went flush and straight right on the money! My personal methodology when it comes to aftermarket parts: I always try to overbuild the hardware. I always by the highest capacity/quality/durability items I can find. It give me a bigger margin of safety and long term reliability. Its essential to me as I intend to keep the car for a long time.

We'll talk again in 1-2 years when the Raceland pipes start cracking and bending... I'll be sure to remind you of your words!

Just got mine in the mail. Took some pics that i'll put up tonight. Needless to say the quality is ok, except for the fact that one o2 bung was just tacked on! hahaha. all the o2 bungs were the same size on mine, so who knows if they're the right size or not. Gonna email raceland today and see what they want me to do with the pipe that has the bung that was just tacked. I'll be back in touch!
P.S. what is the diameter of the threaded portion of the o2 sensor? I wanna measure the bungs and see if they're correct or not. Jeff |

The quality of the "rest of it". Hahah. spoke with them and they are willing to reimburse me to have a local shop finish it. So, gonna give that a try. Gotta keep trying. I'm just stubborn

Also, the original batch had some people worried about the welds. |

I paid 200 bucks for awesome dps BUT only thing is the 02 sensors dont fit, one of the bung is not welded on and oh yeah the turbo flange is not particularly rounded and bent so it doesn't fit right....Hey I saved alot of money!
