Otherwise, if one can't switch back and forth b/w listening to an app and the iPod without disconnecting the cable first anyway, I might as well just use an AUX cable for now and save myself the headache. And if I want to eventually listen to the iPod app, I'll use the 6FL cable. The one other beef I have with using the 6FL cable anyway is that when you use your phone instead of an iPod, since the cable is so short, you have to leave your phone under the armrest, where you can't see it! |

I have a 2011 with Idrive built after September 2010. My iphone 4 integrates flawlessly with this system. Via bluetooth or the usb cable you can control songs by skipping to the next song using the controls on the steering wheel even playing through pandora. Although, i love the usb connection for my ipod because you can see the albums appear on idrive and information like song / artist etc.

well... this is what I found on another BMW forum...
"I spoke with the manufacturer, Peiker Acustic (www.peiker.com) and the BMW adapter for the iPhone 4 will begin production in November and should be available from BMW in January. " |

I gave my dealer that PN in the other thread. He said it shows up as good but with no description - I had to tell him what it was. I ordered it for like $225? Mine hasn't arrived yet.
