There wasn't a code triggered for a drain plug leak??? Shocker!

I was thinking there might be some other larger problem causing it. But I also used it to clear codes. Defiantly time to take it to the dealer, I think my hpfp is going also.

I just had an identical situation after returning from a trip where my car sat for 6 days. I took it in and they replaced the gasket, oil pan, sealing sleeve, screw plug, and 1/2 liter of oil. The puddle was under the car, right below where the passenger's seat sits.

Did they say what was the cause? I need a argument prepared in case they try to blame it on mods.

They never said what might have caused it. It was all covered under warranty.

Yeah, she is taking hers next monday because thats the earliest the dealer could see it. Hopefully it wont be any big deal. If it is the tranny fluid mods shouldnt matter being they couldnt effect that, correct?

I hope you're still planning on taking out your mods before you go in. I wouldn't want them to flag your car (even if it doesn't affect the current problem). Once it's flagged...

Well I brought my car to the dealer fully modded and they didnt say anything and fixed it...I did tip the SA and the Tech that worked on the car...I was in and out in about 2 hours.

Whether a dealership cares about the mods on the car is highly dependent on individual dealership, their relationship with you, and their standings with BMW NA.

If they're under a BMW NA audit, you could be sure that you will be shouldering the financial responsibility of the repair, not the dealership or BMW...And whatever repair needed will be blamed on the mod(s).

I wish too. But it's not an option, I don't have the tools I had to put them in.

Yea I hope that's how it will be for me too cn, how much did you tip? And did you tip before or after?

Also, hack, yea you are right. But they can't blame everything on mods.

Tipped SA as soon as I sat with him and then ask which tech was working on the car...Told SA to tell Tech where the tip was located in the car and for him to take it..

50 spot each is what I did. I did it because I always tip for service and this problem is actually a known issue with BMW on cars that are just sitting in the showroom floors..This is not something thats they have never heard of, thats for sure

Okay, that is VERY good to know. Hopefully it wont take them long to fix. And I think I might need a new HPFP, but thats on recall so warranty doesnt effect that, well thats how I understand it.
