That SC'd M3 is a friend of mine, cleary his car is not running right as the kit was installed days earlier, so don't get any delusions of grander guys or think that you will hang with a Supercharged M3 like that!

The 335I is the real deal, but once that M3 is dialed in you're gonna need a turbo upgrade to beat it. Either way, the 335I's beat the mighty RS4 and 997S, and like Charlie said, hung with a Stage 3 5 S4 from 1st - 3rd! Doesn't get much better than that, and especially with just software and a beta exhaust.

We'll do a rematch against the SC'd M3 soon.

Guys guys....

I was very disappointed with my car that night, but like Drew said, I had just finished the car 2 nights prior to these races. I thought something was wrong, so I came home and wrenched the whole night and found a towel and some othe misc stuff forgotten in my intake manifold. Please please, do not laugh at me I put it all back together and I think I will do better next time.... Seems to be running much better. YAY !

Lets plan a rematch?

Now that must be faster than stage 3, which, from what I understand, dosent even add agility points and detracts from blunt. Unfortunately, Dinan is the only aftermarket company offering 'wizzard grade' mods, and their 'warranty spell of belief' only adds 10% health, and it will eat your gold even more severely than the 'helm of destruction'.

I hate that way of racing. I mean what the hell, from a roll??? What is that???

Also street racing is very inmature. I have been noticing that the European car owners love to do this. I guess I just expected more from BMW owners, as I though they would be older and more mature.

Bottom line, If you wanna race (in a strait line), do it correctly...

- Go to a drag strip. Racing on the street means nothing and is VERY dangerous. Also you can get a timeslip and have record of your achivments.

- Even if you dont go to the drag strip, at least find a rural road and start the race from a stop. From a roll is NOT A RACE.

While I agree with your street racing comments, I disagree about your rolling start comments.

A rolling start is way to equalize things among the cars. From a dead stop, the all-wheel drive cars and (to a lesser extent) the M3 have a huge advantage. They can get the power to the ground much more effectively than the 335 with its smallish back tires and no limited slip rear end.

The rolling start allows all cars to have closer to equal traction. This makes it a more "fair" race if you are trying to determine the capabilities of the cars. It does, of course, remove some of the driver talent from the equation also

The rolling start is also a lot easier on the drive train.

EVO owners love to race from the dig, lol. Racing from a dead stop is meant for the drag strip, not the street. Most guys aren't running around the streets with slicks (or even DRs), so most high powered cars will just spin anyhow. Rolling start takes traction out the equation...but then you have to decide what mph to start, etc etc. It may not be the best way to race, but probably the most suitable for the street.

I almost rearended a Civic Si that was staged in the middle of the highway along side some other ricey car. The car that was about 10 CLs behind me came to a screeching halt and slammed into the other ricey car. Idiots stopped in the middle of an interstate trying to set up a drag race. Since that I have been a bigger supporter of the rolling start.

300C SRT8 can't keep up with an XEDE-equipped 335i

Speaking of a rolling start, let's just say that a Chrysler 300C SRT8 totally got walked today by an XEDE-equipped 335i! :rocks: The SRT8 guy didn't exactly look happy, after his 425HP/420 lb.-ft. TQ 6.1L Hemi V8 couldn't keep up with the little BMW 335i...he probably doesn't know the 335i is a FI twin turbo and he certainly didn't know that this little Bimmer has a little something extra" under the hood." I thought those Hemi V8's (especially the SRT8) have a super powerful top end????

Nonetheless, it was funny to see how baffled and frustrated the SRT8 driver looked! He didn't even give a courtesy thumbsup when he exited...sore loser, I guess!

Nice kill! For a big car, those 300C SRT8s are pretty quick, high 12s stock. You probably just crushed his ego. Poor guy, lol. The PROcede 335i is going to surprise a lot of cars on the street.

I thought they have a real powerful top end? Are they drag-limited?

LOL... "nice kill".... seriously, is this a honda forum?????

Racing from a roll is gay. I dont care if AWD cars have the advantage, I dont care if you can't drive and launch your high powered RWD car. Racing from a roll means nothing.

Racing someone on the street and gettin a "kill" mean nothing. Some people get caught off guard, some dont even know their racing but you guys are just..."yeah, i killed this and that...". If you ask me, its bs.

Rolling start is better on your drivetrain, but if your worried about your drivetrain, you shouldn't be racing. You pay to play.

Take it to a real track and see who wins. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS.

sounds to me like the srt-8 driver was fully concious he was racing. but i guess since he wasn't at a track it wasn't official enough the track thing is YOUR opinion, and you are entitled to it. i'll never take my car to a track but that doesnt mean i can't race my friends on an empty street and claim that i've won

Thanks for stating your OPINION. If you don't want to race from a roll, simply don't do it... but calling it gay because you simply don't like it is ignorant.

I understand your point about going to the track (not the "from a roll" thing), but FWIW -- the SRT8 guy didn't get caught off guard for the 20 min. "on/off" exercise of "spirited driving" today. I was just under the impression that the 300C SRT8 was crazy-nuts fast...and it is, but apparently, the XEDE-equipped (and PROcede-equipped) 335i is much faster; in fact, I actually think a stock 335i could hang in there or be slightly ahead of this car as well. I also think that many, if not most Chrysler 300C SRT8 drivers think they're hot sh!t; it's just good to know that they too can be knocked off their high horse by a few select cars, including the 335i, without too much effort.

My comment wasnt saying you did or didnt lose to the SRT-8. It was just one of the points of my opinion.
