This makes no sense. Running a car with HFC or No-Cats is illegal in most states. BMW wouldn't touch your power train in million years. Better hope Dinan is there to cover.

There is virtually no one that wants dinan parts anymore. They are overpriced, provide no gains over other aftermarket support, and did I mention the cost aspect???

Dinan might produce downpipes, but that doesn't automatically guarantee support or warranty coverage on related parts with Dinan's downpipes. Even if they were available, I can't see them selling catless pipes, let alone a tune or O2 simulators to suppress the codes. I'm sure they'll be happy to sell a set of $4000 spun metal catalytic pipes that represent a 5 WHP gain over the stock units though. |

OP seriously if you are willing to spend 4k on Dinan downpipes then you need your head examined. I just dont get it. Get a similar product for 1/5 the price, gain more HP and IF you ever need to have the car worked on you can get someone to put your stockers back on over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and you will still save money and make more power. I just dont get it. Dinan doesnt make sense to me anymore.

You're smoking crack dude. $4k for anything less than a turbocharger

Dinan products have NEVER been covered under BMW's warranty. Dinan has their own, separate warranty, matching BMW's 4-year/50,000 mile warranty.
Honestly, does it take too much time to do some research and figure things out before posting random misinformation? This took 2 seconds (rough estimate): "If your vehicle is currently covered by the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty, Dinan products are warranted for the remaining term of the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty. The manufacturer’s new car warranty is limited to 4 years or 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers in Canada), commencing on the date of first retail sale or the date the vehicle is first placed in-service as a demonstrator or company vehicle, whichever is earlier. Dinan’s warranties are transferable when ownership of the vehicle into which the Dinan products were originally installed is sold."

The only thing I would ever consider from Dinan is their lsd, everything else is a over priced joke, actually that could be said for alot of the products in this comunnity period.

Okay....I think you might be missing the point.
Yes, I agree that many of us modded guys HAVE spent close to 4k, if not more, for our parts on our cars..... But I can almost guarantee that none of us have spent that much just on a set of pipes. It's like this: $4000- a set of dps from dinan (you) $4000- dps, a tune, and DP back exhaust plus installation.....(the rest of us). 4000 is still 4000 at the end of the day......but it's what you get in return that matters most, IMO. Lol @ dinan and op.
I'm sure many people would rather buy some bbs wheels instead of downpipes for that price...

The Dinan intake is made of CARBON FIBER, hence the cost.
I don't see any concrete statement that Dinan DP would be $4K. It's all conjecture at best, and I would guess that it would realistically cost double (~$1.5K) of top DP aftermarket vendors such as AR. If Dinan DP end up MSRPing at 4K, then it truly means that this is one of the most unreliable and detrimental mods that you can do to an N54 powertrain, because presumably Dinan properly analyzed their cost/benefit warranty coverage ratio for releasing the product. |
