X-pipe reduces the rasp. Straight pipe is always the best performance wise, Shiv is right on that. You want to get that Air our of there as fast as possible/shortest distance of travel, increase your performance. Just think about how breathing works for your own body.
(Breath in more (intake) release more as quickly and in the shortest route(exhaust), now with your body its through your mouth rather then your nose, you do this when you are running for maximum performance- your body needs more oxygen.) Heh sorry guys thought it be fun to use the body as an analogy. |

I am not denying that claim, just simply agreeing that best performance is seen through the straight pipe(at least from what I've learned and seen). Plus one of the major reasons for the x-pipe was the reduction in the Rasp.

Nice links, so now we know that the X-pipe is for balancing the exhaust flow in V8 engines. In N54 the cylinders should fire to each exhaust side every other time only. No overlapping there. And 2,5" aftermarket upgrade dimension is large enough for the 1.5 liter displacement per side so there is no need for any "balancing".

hmm, I thought it is H pipe. I've been under car two times when I did my dynos. I thought that is H pipe design. I think I am wrong then. Thanks for the correction.
