Lost Marine put together a customer comparison/compiliation dyno thread here:

http://www.bimmer*****.com/showthrea...ilation-Dyno-s

RB's are putting up the highest numbers (especially on pump gas!) Hope this helps.

Not missing much on that forum... The same half a dozen people posting and trash talking is all you get there.

Have you gone underneath the car? Ever even try installing aftermarket downpipes? Enough said. Oh I forgot to mention the exhaust manifold is connected to the turbos, so that would need to be redesigned. There is just not the market for our cars (very few people when compared to other communities like Evo, STi, Honduh).

I'm glad we do have options now, even if they are just upgraded stock turbos.

And plenty of those cars have aftermarket manifolds to fit upgraded turbos.

What other turbos are available besides RB? Do the wastegates get updated automatically?

On the RB's the wastegate upgrade that Rob designed is part of the package. He also now installs new OEM actuator arms with each set (used to be optional).

Not sure about the details on those. I know enrita had the TD (turbo dynamics) stage 2 upgraded turbos. They seem to be an option that upgrades both wheels along with ASR and Rob Beck.

Did see some mention of the RDSport not being a full upgrade, meaning one of the wheels is clipped like a lot of the other "upgrades".

If tuning progression for the N54 platform is anything like that of the 2.7T motor was for Audis, it will be a few years until we see a comprehensive set of offerings for big turbos. The 2.7T was introduced in the 2000 model year US Audi S4, (1999 in Europe), and we had K04s from the Europe only RS4 and aftermarket modifications for them for a few years. In 2007(ish) Autospeed and VAST developed a manifold and turbo kits based OTS Garrett GT series turbos. These kits were very expensive, and the installs dramatic. In 2009, a graduate mechanical engineering student developed some kit variants also based on custom GT series turbos and using factory manifolds, manufactured by TiAL. These kits were developed with a lot of engineering acumen, and the "less is more" ethos. Science and experience have made the TiAL kits the defacto choice for big turbo kits on these cars. They are reliable, and they make HUGE power... but it took nearly ten years for someone to step up and do it properly... The engineer who designed the TiAL kits is a very close friend of mine. Given what I know of that effort, and his initial explorations into the N54/N55 platform, it is very likely that the envelope is still very limited by comparison to where it will be once someone gets serious about developing a turbo or set of turbos that doesn't rely on stock housings and turbofolds. Even if I were out of warranty and my E90 were no longer a daily driver, there's no way I would jump into the aftermarket turbo market at this point. There's just too much learning and development to be done yet. The surface has just barely been scratched where the N54 is concerned, and $3000+ is a bunch of money to throw at a core based kit.
