I believe owner's choice is only available in a couple of states, texas and illinois for sure.

There are some weird laws where if you do traditional lease, and end up buying the car at the end, you pay double taxes. So most people who have the intention of buying but want lower payments do the owner's choice option in these states.

I really couldn't care less (gross exaggeration) if my E92 depreciated to a value of $0 after I drive away from PCD. I'm purchasing this car for the purpose of the sheer driving pleasure it affords and IMHO, whatever it costs, it costs.

Let's not disregard the fact that we can financially afford to own this vehicle. If we couldn't, then what we really should be driving around with is a Suzuki or Kia.
I agree with you, but not in a literal sense. I feel the E92 335 is way overpriced, and it is one of the times where I disregarded the value proposition to get what I wanted. Another time would be the house, where I paid 30+% extra just for location. Maybe another would be a diamond engagement ring, where one's supposed to let emotions take over and spend as much as one can reasonably afford, and it costs a lot to move one category to the left on the GIA report. So if edmunds is accurate and says it costs 80 cents per mile to operate a 335, I do care. I don't knock people who drive Kias or Suzukis. When they're motoring at 35 cents per mile, they're not looking as bad anymore. When I researched the 3 Series, the depreciation was 18% in year one. I don't know how the heck it's 10k/45k now. Literally, if I don't sell it, it's inconsequential, except the fact that it's 80 cents per mile to drive. Yes, we can afford to drive this vehicle, but I remind myself once in a while of my friend that purchased a 2k7 Accord SE 4 cyl. auto for 19.6k brand-new--that's sheer value to me, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's just amazing that not only does he get value, 10 years of trouble-free motoring, but better depreciation than a 335. Usually you can't have it all, but with Honda, you can.
