Things to consider outside of HP and fitment. Are you going to install yourself or are you, like most people, who are busy with work to allow them to afford toys for their cars, have it installed by pro. Cause average cost is $250. So you pay some pro to install but it doesn't fit, okay that's cool raceland will exchange, but is your pro going to reinstall 2nd pair of DPs free of charge? If yes, go for it. If he wants to charge more for an install that should have worked the first time than it's not worth it. My .02 cents.

Seems cheap products vs quality products pops up all the time on car forums. I always see the fitment issues as the main drawback. Some see it as worth it to pay more and not have to worry about fitment issues. Really does depend on a few factors which is best for you.

Yes, you are correct. Not really focusing on the important part of my post though.

Can't go wrong with ebay PLM! 3inch too! My pipes fit nicely. Of course the AR will fit perfectly but are they worth +$500???

FYI if your pipes rattle they are installed wrong and need to be rotated away from each other. This goes for the cheapy ones to the ARs.

I bought raceland dp's and then had them jethot coated with their 2000 degree coating for 365 including the pipes and all the shipping around. They fit perfectly and with the heqt coating they'll hqve a higher velocity and i won't have to worry about salty winter roads. Only thing i've noticed and not sure if it's the case with all dp's, but there is a drone at 1400-1600 rpms. The drone is the ONLY drawback to these pipes in my case. Hope that helps

if you order, i'll say this week or next, you'll probably get it from the same batch that I got my downpipe around 2 weeks ago. I was a little worried and scared too about the fitment but they were PERFECT. NO FITMENT issues what so ever and the meth bungs were perfect, too.

Very constructive.

You seem to be more concerned about the fitment of DPs that you'll never own than those who plan on buying them. If they work, why continue to knock it? I don't get it.

AA's are 575 new in the GB, plus the 150 install I paid because I don't have ramps... so yeah.

PLM's are around 280 shipped. They fit better, are 3" and offer the extra hp/tq your mocking.. so again, enjoy your racelands.

RL's are a poor buy in just about every scenario I can think of. The most important one being price, buy used or buy PLM.

Read his sig before you bash me dude...he has AR's, which you neglected to give the price for. As for PLM's, from what I have heard, they are good quality pipes. You don't see me knocking those do you? Try next time.

Let's not forget PLM has that giant dent in the side of the pipe. It looks like sh*t and has to degrade performance to an extent. No other 3" pipes that I've seen have this same dent in order to clear the other pipe. No thanks.

AA for less than $600 shipped from burger motorsports is the way to go for brand new 3" pipes IMO.

UHHHHH..what exactly works? 30-50% correct fitment and sub-standard quality..

To answer your question/concerns:

1) The title of the thread is Raceland vs competetiors..
2) The OP is asking for advice
3) This is a car forum where people debate their opinions and ideas
4) People should know the real deal w RL..and that they are cheap for a reason...in case they have not read and participated in other threads like myself and others here.
5) Debunking the myth that all DPs are the same

Hopefully this clarifys your confusion

Spent 600 for my AR..which will prolly out last the car..

Just look at these skinny pipes and welds for RL in comparision to AR ..if you wanna be cheap its ok..just say your cheap..Im sure you like to bring your dates to a McDs instead of a nice restaurant b/c at the end of the day its all food right?? LMAO!

Dont try the justification that buying these DPs is ok ...b/c you think they r the same as quality DP..

The price difference are a no brainer. Raceland and PLM downpipes are made over seas using cheap metal and insanely cheap labor pricing. By no surprise they cost less and quality control, fitment, design is out the window. Their focus is mass production and making a quick penny. No harm no foul we are all business men and can't blame a company for trying to make a living. Be that is it may you are taking a chance with a head ache. This community is amazing with the stuff they complain about in terms of pricing, yet we all bought a BMW? Cant your typical Chevy cobalt get you to and from work just as easily?

I'm not against the cheap DP's, if you get a good batch and they fit they and work more, power to you. We all still know which ones are higher quality though.
