I actually contacted VF Engineering to see if they would develop a supercharger that'd work with the stock twins.. no luck

ignore the wannabe know-it-alls that are dogging you for talking about twincharging your car. for the right $$$ its definitely possible but on this platform i dont think 4-6k would do it.

besides that the main use for twincharging is instant power on LARGE turbo cars that would normally have massive lag issues, which on this platform is non existant anyway.

your best bet would be full bolt ons. then look at upgrading turbos down the road when you have some more money and when someone hopefully comes out with an upgraded fuel system!

the route i would take is
- tune
- intercooler
- dp
- meth
- CAI or DCI
- forge diverters or bov(only really needed if you plan on running more than 17-18 psi)
- catback

this should put you in the mid low 400's

shiv (procede tuning) has been testing an in tank fuel pump which piggy back's the existing fuel system taking some load off but it doesnt give it a higher flow rate iirc. hopefully SOMEONE will come out with a stronger HPFP and higher flowing direct injectors sometime soon though. i dont plan on upgrading my turbos until this happens because once it does you can bet your ass there will be alot better upgrade options hitting the market than RB and ASR (not saying these arent great options but bigger better things will come!!!) and once they do be prepared to pony up for upgraded axles, better dif, clutch etc.

Just curious, but what are your plans for the car and how tight is your budget? For any situation the first 5 mods I would do is:

-Driving instructions/track time
-Good tires (not cheap $150 summer tires or RFTs)
-LSD
-Tune
-Meth

Use the search feature......im sure youll find answers to these questions,

Also on another note, i sell a twincharge kit for the 335i, you would make 991 whp, and 2000 lb/ft of torque. Its a simple bolton, takes 2 mins. Have won alot of awards since its creation, and bmw is thinking of adopting it for the new m3.

it only costs 1,000,000,000 pieces of trident layers gum. Pm if interested

Well, it was mainly for speculation and insight . But a big thank you for your extremely informative post as it puts me at about right where I want to be. Doesn't meth+tune=vroom vroom? This was an interesting thread

I plan to use it as my daily driver and to track it here and there on the weekends. Probably more once I start getting into it.

-In what way would you recommend driving instructions..?
-For tires I was going to go with Michelin Pilot Super Sports
-I know LSD is important but you think it should be up there with the first purchases?

i'm no expert but this platform has one of the best open difs i've ever felt... my 04 gto CAME with a LSD and it SUCKED compared to this car!!! i've not once experienced one tire fire on mine once and i tend to drive pretty spirited time to time. imo lsd wouldnt be needed until you are making mid high 400's or plan on tracking your car on a competitive level.

could you imagine the problems that would arise by adding an SC to the N54 platform?!?!? The fuel system can barely handle the stock setup....
