The Gallardo is a good looking car but it has a very weak clutch. Many people find it needs replacing after 5k to 10k. It's definitely not a car to use as a daily driver. Especially as a new clutch in the UK costs the equivalent of $5,000.

Because they are in different price range. Im more of a GT car fan so i would choose SL63. Interior is really nice especially i owned 2003 sl500 before.

i see a guy driving one everyday, so it's gotta mean something. And i'd shoot for the Bull, definitely. And yes for the statement about this car attracts attention, it sure as hell does. A friend of mine took me for a ride in his diablo, and it was insane the amount of stares you get. And the other day i was at cold stone, came out side to a guy in orange murci, and 4 girls were all conversating with him laughing and taking pictures. I hated him for that moment. |

If you check used car prices, you can get a used gallardo for less than a used R8.
Hell, a lot of used R8's are barely cheaper than a new stripper R8. I looked for used R8's for a while. Eventually gave up. Not devaluating fast enough for me. Another thing to note : before the engine change, the early gallardo's are rather slow. The ones worth buying are still $$$. Then again, if you're looking new, none of this matters to you. -scheherazade |

I would not daily the car but I would like to drive it about 2-3 days a week during the summer months.
Personally i prefer the Gallardo over the R8, although many of you dont agree i dont mind lol! The car has a brand new clutch and all the service records and about 10k on the ode-meter(certified through dealer). Its not my only car so im not too worried about it getting abused, i also have an 07 H2, 11 range rover sport, e92 M3 and i would be picking up a 2012 e class with the gallardo. As for maintenance the main thing will be the clutch($6,500 apprx) and im prepared to pay that and whatever else it needs. Im giving myself until the weekend to think about it then pulling the trigger hopefully! |

F430. Hope the Gallardo is that screaming lime green. Then it will be the epitome of a pimp mobile.

1. Have you ever owned an Italian exotic? 2. Are you financially prepared to cover service costs? 3. Have you checked insurance? Hagerty and Grundy are highly recommended for Exotics 4. Have you ever test driven one? This could either make it or break it for you. 5. Are you financially prepared to cover any repairs (if you purchase a Gallardo out of warranty)? The list goes on from here.... I also recommend a Lambo forum or ferrarichat (they have a Lambo section) for more questions you may have... Best of luck...

I have driven the regular Gallardo 6mt and wasn't too overtly impressed by it other than the glorious V10 sound. The original Gallardo wasn't that fast of a car as it only ran low 12's in the 1/4; as time progressed however; they became increasingly better - if you are thinking of an LP560 which is radically quicker, then I have a feeling that that model would be glorious and I would strongly suggest.

I had a Gallardo prior to the m3 and before that a 360. Gallardo was great and is one of the best looking cars out there in my opinnion. Great straight line speed but not an all that involving drive. If you are considering an 07 I would test drive a 430 as I think you would find it a more satisfying drive (as the 360 was for me).
Having not driven the m6 its hard to comment but it is a big car so either of the options above will feel more nimble I woudl think. One more thing - in either case you will encounter the 'supercar' practical issues of low clearance (ok you might get the lift with the gallardo), small turning circle, no space, not being able not see anything out the back etc. Good luck and a nice choice to have regardless.. |
