whats bmw cca's policy on taking non-bmws?

Watkins (at least the one I listed above) was not CCA but with NASA so it's not make specific. But given you're not a member, I think wait list priority would go to members first.

Honestly it may be better to skip this one. I had a hard enough time finding lodging 2 weeks ago, at this point you'd have to go pretty far out and it would suck driving 1 hour in the morning to get to the track. Try hitting up the CCA or PCA events since they still have slots open.

Alright so I checked out the Schattenbaum PCA event.
http://www.schattenbaum.org/Calendar.aspx
For 10/20 - 10/21. So even though it's a PCA event ... and I don't have a Porsche, obviously ... I'm still able to register?

Event details:

Quote:
PCA instructed $310
Non-PCA Instructed $340
PCA Solo driver $280

Yes, I'm almost certain they can register. As I mentioned earlier, only potential issues is a) no convertibles and b) tinted windows. See my earlier post on how to get around b.

It's about the rear window and side. The drivers behind need to be able to see what your doing inside the vehicle and they need to be able to see you as they pass you. You'll really get it once you get on the track.

Just a heads up. I'm not sure if PCA lends out helmets so I'd recommend that you find yourself one beforehand or confirm that they do lend out helmets and you have one reserved.

"CCA is more focused on instruction, PCA provides more challenge and more track time, a combination of both is probably ideal."

like i said, since we have our windows down and do point-bys, why do they need to see through the rear window? and also ive been to poconos and ive had NO issue whatsoever with tints on anybodys car

NJ CCA - NJMP Lightning 10/16-17

PCA Schattenbaum - NJMP Thunderbolt 10/20-21

There may be others I'm missing but this seems about it. I know Trackdaze is down at VIR but doubt anyone would do that drive from tri-state.[/QUOTE]

I am avaialbe on these two, if the NJ CCA - NJMP Lightning on 10/16 is perfect.
I also have not been on track before, Can I come?

I'm not the spokesperson for any of these clubs, lol. But to answer your question, yes anyone is welcome. It's just a matter of registering for each event. Do a google search for NJ BMW CCA or PCA Schattenbaum and it should be pretty self-explanatory from their site on how to register.

Registration was pretty easy for Schattenbaum - self-explanatory as noted.

I'll be picking up a helmet soon.

Here's the tech inspection for the PCA event ...

Quote:
ROLL BARS: All open cars (e.g. cabriolets) MUST have roll bars protection. (Un-deployed of the pop-up bar is not acceptable at NJMP). Boxsters, Targas and 914s are acceptable without add-on rollbars. Sunroofs must be closed while on the track

Do you have some suggestions of which roll cage is cheaper with enough use?

I don't think they make a standard roll cage for the E93's. Your best bet is to call up guys like VAC and get them to give you a quote. It's not going to be cheap...
