I have both cars, but m3 is a completely different the class, handling, and sportier looking and the name M3, you have to own it to see the difference, when it comes to power 335 is faster after chipping it but still is not enjoyable as M3, e46 m3 rock solid car i had owned 2 of them phoenix yellow sold with 89k and Laguna seca blue sold with 100k and never had problems.

Do you guys know once you alter mileage in an e46 a tamper dot stays on the dash forever? Also the m3 is more sporty but also less torquey. So if you like to push your car and go to the track go for it.

This is correct. If you were to access the mileage information and attempt to alter it on an e46..... a tamper does indeed appear. So its pretty easy to see if it has be rolled back.

I wouldnt do the trade, there are plenty of other E46's out there for a much better price, there was recently an '02 M3 for sale with 9200 miles and it was fully track prepped (brembos F&R, coilovers, wheels) and that sold for under 25k.
I loved my E46 M3, still one of my favorite cars, if you enjoy driving it is a far more satisfying car than the 335 and I even liked it more than the E9X M3's. |
