well, the whole thing came about is because i asked her if she wanted to come see the personal trainer with me this weekend. Things started going downhill from there. You'd think ladies would be more open minded then that.

Besides the muscle, are there any disadvantages to getting this?

Works great, I've had it for a few weeks now. Adds around 40-50hp on 91 octane and no ill effects so far.

Ill answer my best, coming from modding a wrx and reading alot about this car. I am sure the internals, the engine can handle this added power, as I have seen no one say anything about problems other then the fuel pump going, which seems to be happening with the stock cars anyways. I think there woul dbe no draw backs other then maybe in the long run your turbo's will not last as long because of the extra boost they are giving out. The car should feel faster, and perform nicely. You pay to play, just know you could possibly have something go wrong. This car has not been out long enough, and people have not been keeping engine management on their cars for many miles yet. So who knows what could happen. It is a risk, but so far people have been having good results. I would check through all the engine management systems they have available, procede seems to be very popular. Do the research, and this guy has a right to ask questions, I would before I put something on a 40,000 dollar car. Hope this helps you a little bit bro, and good luck.

If you've actually been on this Forum for almost a year, you'd know all about the XEDE (which now AA or Active Autowerke as well as RD Sport uses for their piggyback 335i box) and Vishnu's (Shiv) PROcede; Shiv was of course the original tuner using the XEDE for the 335i, and then dropped it for the PROcede piggyback computer. Try searching again and look at the stickies in this section. There are literally hundreds of threads on this subject...it's actually what most ppl on this very Forum (in regards to the 335i) have been talking about since Sept., '06.

Yeah, what they said. Also, if your fuel pump lasts 6,000 miles, it most likely won't fail. The upgrades seem to be easily handled by this motor, without problems. Enjoy!

dkp: you obvioulsy missed the march 2007 AutoWeek report on Vishnu's PROcede.

Quote:
We drove Pathak’s personal 335i and man-oh-man he wasn’t kidding about power. While the stock 335i is fun to drive in a straight line, the Vishnu car was double-good-honking fun. The boost was substantial, like a different model of 3. Pathak says his system adds 55 to 60 more horsepower and 70 to 80 more pound feet of torque. But wow!

The PROcede for the new 335i costs $1300 from vishnutuning.com.

Guys, let's be fair. You always point out that Active and RDSport are using a customised version of the Xede, then you mention Vishnu's Proceed as if he was manufacturing his own product. The PROceed is a Haltec Interceptor with a different sticker on it. Let's call a spade a spade and stop pretending (or even worse, believing) that Vishnu is some guru that holds all the knowledge about forced induction, on a BMW nevertheless.

Just for laughs, I called Haltech pretending to be a US customer wanting information on their product for BMW and they gave me Vishnu's phone number. If you don't believe me, do the same and let me know what happens.

In any case, you may figure out some day that making a 335i into a fast car takes more than 15 psi of boost. It is about power, but most important are suspension tuning, brakes, wheels, LSD, and many other upgrades that will doubtfully be available from Vishnu. I am sure you will find all of the above from either AA or RDSport. I am not sure Vishnu will support you down that path.

At the end of the day, a piggyback is a piggyback, and the data in it is what makes the difference. But if you want a comprehensive approach to BMW tuning, you should stick to a BMW tuner. Just pick your flavour and stick to it!

Hmm this post is very suspicious. Eight posts, your from Australia and you support Active Autowork. It is clear that this guy has been hired by Omar himself to defend Active Autowork. TQ is one of many of Omar's canadian ninja hippies running around this forum. I did some research and I found that TQ is actually from the town in this article http://www.boston.com/news/world/aus...eedom_at_risk/.

Ahhh, I don't recall I ever said that Shiv was the mfgr of the "Haltech" Interceptor. I'd say 99% of the folks on E90Post.com are very well aware that Shiv is not the mfgr, but he certainly did the initial tuning and remapping s/w (first on the XEDE box and then the "PROcede"/Interceptor) for the 335i. So what's YOUR issue?

Just to get info out there :

1.) I'm also from Sydney, Australia.
2.) I'm definitely not a ninja hippie .
3.) This is the response I got via email from Haltech in regards to their "Interceptor" :

Hi ,
We have worked very heavily with the Proceed unit and certainly feel this is the right unit to purchase for the 335i, as it is actually the unit we used on Garry Holts, 12 hour Bathurst winning 335i!

If there is anything else we can do please let me know,

That's certainly interesting. It seems everyone can be included in "we". I own a Procede. Maybe I (we) used it on Garry Holts 12 hour Bathurst winning 335i also. Apparently Shiv works with Haltech and has liscensed the Interceptor and has ability to tune it for 335i and sell it named the Procede. In any case. THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT.

This is almost laughable. With all due respect, I don't see how the above is really relevant to the Procede. I guess the only way to get a comprehensively tiuned vehicle is to make sure I buy brakes and wheels from the same company that makes my piggyback? Should I not buy BBS wheels because BBS doesn't make suspension components? The fact that Vishnu has spent so much time developing for the 335 and actually offers a product for a BMW makes Vishnu a BMW tuner. It's not like Vishnu is trying to tune spaceships with no prior knowledge in the spaceship field--at the end of the day, it's a car with a motor and software. Granted, the original post was bout the AA box, so ProCede really should not have been a major subject in the thread to begin with.

Here is my issue. You either call these units by their manufacturers' names (i.e. the Xede and the Haltec Interceptor), or you call them by the name the different companies have picked to market these products (i.e. AA Xede, RDSport Black Box, Vishnu Proceed). By always exposing the Xede origin for the AA and RDSport products without doing the same for the Proceed shows bias. We want facts, not bias, and the fact that you cannot have a discussion on a competing product without the Proceed guys going ballistic is really annoying.
