Well considering the direction this thread is going, I thought I would share the fact that I grew up on a farm in the mid-west and honestly, I shit you not, I have used a COBB to wipe before… True story! You know, the shit stuck to the COBB then also. True story! LOL
(For everyone who thinks I just trashed COBB, well you’re wrong. You all had a choice to buy whatever tune you wanted when you bought your tune. If you are having issues with misfires, well maybe you should have done some RESEARCH or contacted COBBs wonderful technical support for assistance. I’m sure they will call you back, text you, or send you their personal cell phone numbers like Shiv does so that they can support their innovative product in their limited market space.) |

Changing plugs is cheap insurance for a smooth running engine. Its very simple-The harder you drive your car, the faster the plugs will be come worn.
Even if your'e not throwing misfire codes- you can still feel small misfires and/or hiccups from worn plugs. For reference- I normally replace spark plugs 3 times throughout the 10 track events/year. Once they begin to open up it's a slippery slope. Especially on high boost-these plugs absolutely need to be in good shape. And for those track monkeys- Oil is another thing that is cheap to replace every single track event. |

Never had a misfire in my life. Plug changes are a definite and easy win. Well said OP.

not always the tune, dont mislead people, i have misfires because a bad injector, not everyone NEEDS new plugs

It depends on how you are getting misfires. If they are in 1 cylinder then you can do the "free" checks first. Start with swapping the coil pack from the cylinder that is misfiring to the one that is not misfiring, if it moves its like the coilpack. If there is multiple misfires it usually points to sparkplugs, HOWEVER, if there is a rough idle and hesitation it could be injectors or fuel related. When the problem stems from fuel related problems there are usually fuel codes present. However, the end user needs to take the appropriate steps to determine what is in fact the problem as not all misfires are created = |

you can use NGK plugs of mini cooper S as well. those are my next plugs... search and you will get all your answers.

Best thread started on here!!.
People it's very simple,every 20 k on tuned cars and every 40k on non tuned plugs will need to be changed.Turbo cars run like shit with boost leaks,old oil,bad plugs,and people who work on their own cars who are clueless. |

Of course they must have over 100 qtr mlle runs on these plugs alone. And just yesterday with a 11.7 at 125.0 mph on the vbox, you can see they work fine off of nitrous.
