Its actually less distracting. You pay more attention to the car and the road. In an automatic my mind wanders off because there is less for me to do. Almost got into an accident for that reason. And its actually easier to race in an automatic its just that you have to pay more once the transmission starts breaking from the abuse. Don't say you wont race or drive fast because every guy does.

Just remember, an Infinity is just a pimped up Nissan. I would NEVER EVER buy an Infiniti IN MY LIFE AGAIN! They are pieces of crap that are prone to suspension failures, window motor and sunroof motor failures and intake system failures. They have a TINNY sound to them and GOD FORBID you have an issue with the car, the ENTIRE company of Infiniti sucks the WORST for customer service from the dealership level all the way up to the Vice President of the Company. I owned a J30 Infiniti and Nothing but bad experience with the car and the service from the Dealerships! I had such a bad experience with the and the incompetence of a dealership in Jacksonville Florida, I was forced to work my way up to the Vice President of the Company in the Americas. They could care less about their customers and the experience was so bad, I swore to worn everyone I ever met again about how bad the company is. BEWARE!

BMW has been NOTHING BUT THE BEST for customer service! Even if I had an issue with the Dealer, Corporate has NEVER dropped the ball on my 328xi. I would say put a Performance Exhaust on the Car, a performance intake, change the plugs every 50 k miles and put a tune on the car and you will find even the automatic is quite a peppy car to drive. Although you need to learn to slap it into sport mode "DS" for better pickup and performance driving...

Previous design 2007 G35 or current design 328i coupe? The previous design G35 had a very mediocre interior. I really like the 3.5 L engine though on the G35

I used to be a big fan of Infniti and owned a few of their models (just recently moved to BMW). I had a 2004 G35 Sedan, a 2007 G35 coupe and 2008 G37 coupe. 2007 G35 coupe is the last year they made those coupes. I think the G35 coupe design is timeless and VQ engines are considered to be one of the best in the world. They also have an amazing stock exhaust sound (you can always tell when you hear one drive by).
Some of the VQ engines are prone to burning a lot of oil and can cause issues down the road. If you happen to get one that doesn't have an oil burning issue, I feel like the car will outlast BMW and will be less expensive to maintain (in the high mileage). Given all that, I made a switch to BMW ![]() |

I went from a G35 coupe to a 330. The 330 was clearly superior in many ways already mentioned, however I STILL think the original G35 coupe body is a classic.
Tough choice if you value styling highest - it would come down to the condition of the available cars and my mood that day. And on the used market you might as well go for a 335, best motor ever! |

OP, Infiniti makes a good car but they really are a difficult lot to do business with. The dealership wouldn't give me the light of day when I was considering buying a brand new car from them; image what trying to get them to fix something under warranty would be like! |

BMW - no question
don't worry about the hp difference, you should be able to tell the difference within 20 sec's of driving a BMW vs Infinity/Audi/Lexus/Mercedes. |

I would take an Infinity over a 328i anyday. When looking for my new car, I narrowed it down to just 4 cars. Used CTS-V, 335i, G37 or MB C class coupe. I drove all of them and the 335i beat the others out. The G37 was very fun to drive and I like it very much. The Cadillac just burned too much gas and didn't have much room for tuning. BUT, I was given a 328i as a loaner and I would take an Infinity G35 over that car any day! Way more fun to drive, way more dependable, etc.
Drive both and get what you prefer though. |

OP is 18, I bet he's looking for the faster car. If you are OP, definately G35 unless you can talk your parents into a 335i. Test drive the 335i and you'll never look back. |
