1) Completely uninstall the serial driver
2) Right click the driver -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" -> select windows xp sp2/sp3
3) Install the driver
4) No more disconnects (works for the radioshack cable also)

I loaded 4 different versions of drivers for my prolific cable. Well after hours I finally found one driver that worked and Procede stayed connected. Here is the link

Look for the 2009 Drivers for windows/vista and 64-bit OS

Good luck
Ho. Lee. Shnikies. You are the man. Thank you infinitely. Not sure why this driver worked and the other one from the same people didn't, but hell yes I'm happy right now! Thank you thank you.

Got the 7-29 maps loaded, about to go for a drive. Should I adjust any settings?

I have DCI, CL DPs, IC, and exhaust running 93.

Car is warming up in the driveway.

Just went for a few 60-120 interstate runs. Feels super smooth. The throttle delivery is exactly what I was hoping it would be. MUCH better than the previous maps. Shiv, sending you some datalogs for review. No idea what I'm looking at, wanna make sure they check out.

Now that you've got things up and running you should run the aggressive maps if you fit the requirements. They are monsters.

Good you got it working. I dunno why this one driver works and the other ones don't! Maybe it because I have nitrous that led me to find this one!

Either way it was very frustrating to say the least to finally find one that works. I was about to dump the cable and buy a new one too!!
