With all due respect to RichP, I believe it was I (not him) who recommended Martin's to you. If I recall correctly, RichP lives in NY somewhere & probably wouldn't go to Union City for a carwash (LOL).

akwhite330i;, I am truly sorry about what happened to your ride. Martin's really hasn't done me any wrong at all, but I can certainly see how what you described could happen. There are 3 Martin's in the same area, and they all almost always rotate their staff like any other place so...

I agree about the place on River Road: its excellent, except I rarely have to go down River Road towards Fort Lee in that direction.

It looks like an old body shop, but they do a great job. They spray the car off first, then use wool mitts to wash the car (and separate wool mitts to clean the wheels). Then they hand dry the car and clean out the interior. On the weekends there may be a bit of a line, but its definitely worth the wait.

Yes, they do detail work. I will probably get a full detail there in the near future. They are also ok with you bringing your own polishes and waxes. When I get my car detailed, I will bring my Klasse set (AIO and SG)

I wish I could make it to the meet considering this is the closest meet so far to where I live.

As far as a full detail goes, I do that myself, with a clay bar, Zaino Pre-cleaner and finally Zaino itself. If you're just going for a car-wash, yeah, I probably could join you guys, but it would likely have to be during the week at lunchtime, cause I'd be coming from Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken.

Edit: Oh, I see.... you guys are having a meet @ Garden State Plaza in Paramus (I thought this was a car-wash thread!!). I'll have to see what's up with this weekend, not sure yet....

haha yea the GSP meet was last week. i too do my own detailing work so i dont bring it somewhere to get detailed and for washes i usually do that myself. i find it cheaper and it comes out 100X better when i do it myself, plus i use MF towels not some towel that was used 10X before my car....

Maybe this should be your side job. I'm pretty sure detailers make pretty good money.

Depends on how much you are charging. lol!

lol, you guys are debating over the best car wash...well I am sorry to break it to you all but that search is a dead end, they are all bad in some form or another. Take my advice and do everything yourself.
